Think it will be...
CLARKE PARTINGTON - CRESSWELL - JOHNSON - GREEN HOWELLS - TAYLOR - DRURY - COULSON MANDRON - CONSTABLE
Difficult decisions for Ronnie as I thought Connor Essam was very good against Swindon. Pipe I assume is injured.
On paper, I think that is our strongest XI.
Reason to come in for Coulson at Swindon on Tuesday.

Can anyone from the club confirm how many match tickets have been sold so far?

I don't think we will get anywhere near 800.
Anything over 400 would be a great achievement.
Lets hope if we do take 800 they have adequate room in the bar to cope!!!!

The problem is, we insist on sticking with Beano and until we get over that hurdle, nothing will change, and if Mandron isnt firing, then we are going to be short of goals. So i understand why we are looking at strikers, but its difficult to see if these youngsters are going to work out well (if they come) Beano has been on the bench for the past 3-4 matches...
Ronnie Moore said from the outset he thought we needed a genuine goal scorer, he said Mandron's good but needs somebody with him - he said Beano is good in his own way and works hard but isn't the answer...
That leaves us with Ryan Bird who has done well since coming in, Jamie Cureton who had 30 minutes at Woking and Scott Wilson coming back from injury.
If you look at the sides that have gone up in the past two seasons they've all had somebody banging them in (with the exception of Bristol Rovers who had an incredible defence)
Cheltenham - Dan Holman (30) Grimsby - Padraig Amond (30) Barnet - Jon Akinde (31) Bristol Rovers - Matt Taylor (18)
Has any of our strikers got 25+ in them?

Not the best of draws, but certainly not the worst.
Any struggling team at home I'd fancy us - Swindon will be a much tougher test than Crewe but we are a much better side than last year.
As for TV, possibly two of five IMO.
Merstham v Oxford Utd St Albans v Carlisle Utd Maidstone Utd v Rochdale Boreham Wood v Notts County Eastleigh v Swindon Town
But still - two tough league trips away from home & a home game before November 5th!

"Anything over 2,800 would be decent" said steve. When I see that I still have to pinch myself. Little more than five seasons ago 800 would have been decent. Incredible isn't it! Largely down to the affordable football the club is offering and the excellent value of season tickets In the Conference South days a very good crowd would be over 800 as you say so its a credit to SD & the club.

Agree with ballboy think the team will be;
Clarke Pipe - Partington - Dugdale - Green Dawson - Taylor - Reason - Coulson Bird - Mandron
I think Dawson will give us a bit more down the right than Howells does and certainly with Pipe at right back it will still be a threat.
Tough game as D&R will want to bounce back from a defeat Tuesday. Frankie Raymond plays for them!
Anything over 2,800 would be decent.

Great night & a great advert for Eastleigh FC.
The first half was as good as we have played all season, 100mph and bombarded the Maidstone box. I haven't been that impressed/seen enough of Jason Taylor so far this season but last night I thought him & Jai dominated midfield and kept the ball moving. The biggest improvement I've seen is compared to the Sutton game - last 20mins whacking it long put us under pressure - last night we kept the ball and didn't panic.
Still early days and 14 games in but this side is gelling well - Ronnie's certainly moving things in the right direction.
Well done to all those involved in organising last nights game which was a success & also the 199 Maidstone supporters - very good effort midweek. Also how refreshing to have Michael back on the PA... keeps it simple.
Just on a separate note for Stewart - what is the approximate completion date for the new clubhouse & is there plans for further ground improvements?

Sutton were decent, but it was only once we had scored they looked like threatening us. They will finish top 10 no problem.
At the end of the day 3 very good points, plenty of positives but a few areas to work on.
I thought a few of the players looked tired last 20 minutes but what is concerning is the lack of options on the bench to change the game.
Admittedly Drury is out so when he does come back in that gives us another option on the bench - either him or Jai.
Keeper was fantastic, as debuts go - can't get much better than that. Feel sorry for Ross as he's been a fantastic servant for EFC, but that's football.
Tables so tight at the top, just need to keep picking up those points and keep in contention!

Could be worse, could be playing Totton & Eling at home in the Wessex League on Saturday!
Does anyone remember Sutton United away in the 2001 FA Cup?
Possibly biggest game in the clubs history at the time - we lost 5-1.
I certainly enjoyed Bolton away last year compared to Egham Town!!
Just be grateful how lucky we are!

Stuart Douglas & Andy Harris to follow!
Can't knock the experience - but almost double Mandron's age!!
In Ronnie we trust...!!!

5 clean sheets in 7 - assuming Ryan Huddard's loan has been terminated this is a bizarre signing.
Not knowing the in's and out's - but terminated his contract at Wimbledon this morning now joins Eastleigh on a two year deal? Didn't settle at Wimbledon, will be interesting to see what happens.
In Ronnie we trust however!!

Having seen a good 5-6 games now it gives us an idea of what the 'best XI' is and how we are likely to set up.
Back four in Partington, Cresswell, Johnson & Green I'm sure we are all in agreement that is our best defence.
Midfield I think with what's available the four that started Tuesday is our best four. (Howells, Drury, Taylor & Coulson) - Still need to see more of Jason Taylor as for me probably needs to offer more both defending and going forward - certainly not the most mobile.
Howells - extremely good with the ball at his feet but is the most one paced winger I've seen since Shaun Dyke.
Mandron & Constable the best two up front although as the manager has stated we need a genuine goalscorer - Mandron will score goals, Constable works his nuts off but we need someone like a Fleetwood when he was at FGR all those years ago.
No doubts this side is good enough to make play offs come May, a striker & possibly a mobile central midfielder would do for me.
