Warren Kenna remains one of my favourite Eastleigh players of all time!
Stuart Kenna played In defence for us.

We have signed him from Kerala Blasters (India), so I'd imagine its something to do with the transfer window.
Who interestingly are managed by Steve Coppell, and include Aaron Hughes/Michael Chopra in their playing ranks.
Their average attendance is also 49,000 at home!!!

Like this a lot, always thought the number two at this level should be a Player/Goalkeeping Coach.
Similar to Shaw at Sutton
Ryan Clarke as number one, Graham Stack as back up... Squad taking shape!!!

Brilliant stuff!
Its the FA Cup and a one off, but lets not forget 1,000 at home a few years back was a massive crowd!
Michael Green last minute winner, could you imagine?!

So this season we have already seen three managers, four different goalkeepers and used 29 players (not including the youngsters at Harlow). Performance wise, in the league we have been poor the only positive this season again is the FA Cup.
Why are we struggling? so many factors...
Credit where credit is due I wasn't Richard Hill's number one fan but the reason we were successful in the Conference South & our first season in the conference was the fact we had a tight knit squad of 14-15 players in the South & 17-18 in the conference. He added some quality into our side from the Championship winning squadnotably Constable & Midson. I can only recall two bad signings under Richard Hill and that was Jamie Hand & Alex Grant who didn't last long.
This season Chris Todd invested heavily, sacked. Ronnie Moore comes in with 3-4 players, departed. Now Martin Allen has already made three signings (Plus Strevens). The squad we currently have is made up of Todd, Moore & Allen's teams. The biggest problem we have now is a lot of these players have signed 18 month, 1-2 year contracts...
We are 10 points off the play offs and still have a chance midway through the season however it would be a miracle if we do end up in the top 5.
I'm confident Martin Allen is the man to move us forwards, he has good pedigree and his experience is unquestionable. But this will be his toughest job in management...
IMO he needs to prepare a squad for next season now... something we need is STABILITY.

In fairness to the club & the manager he did say in his interview only three first teamers would feature. I didn't go Saturday, so credit to those supporters that did. I am a little surprised however the players who will be on the bench on Tuesday did not play some part... Considering only two of Constable, Mandron, Bird & Wilson will start - why couldn't the two who are likely to be on the bench play? I think we may have had a better chance with N'Gala & Obileye in defence & two of the strikers up top. Still, if we win on Tuesday then it will be a good decision

The biggest problem we have now is RM hasn't got a clue what his best XI is? I'm sure we would all have a different line up if we were to pick.
Interestingly we have used 27 players this year, yes 27 of which 4 have been keepers. It felt like a team of strangers at Aldershot on Tuesday and at points yesterday it did as well.
Essam's been massively shafted, him & Greener for me have been the most consistent players when they have played.
I'm fully behind Ronnie Moore and the players we have, the performance at Swindon and the fight we showed at Aldershot shows this lot care, of course they do.. but Ronnie needs to work out his best XI quickly and stick with it to give us some consistency

However, since his return from suspension away to the Daggers he has been poor. Constantly trying to play offside by stopping, standing still and putting his arm in the air like Tony Adams did in the past. That's the Will Evans we know and love!
Hell of a club foot and hopefully pulls out a Cruyff turn on the half way line tonight!!
In fairness Will was a good servant to EFC and a big part of our Conference South winning side so hope he has a good season (other than tonight).

CLARKE
PARTINGTON ESSAM JOHNSON GREEN
REASON DRURY TAYLOR COULSON
BIRD MANDRON
That would be my team tonight, If Howells is fit he plays instead of Jai.
Admittedly Reason has been poor by his own standards this year, but its games like this he can shine.. probably the most naturally gifted player at the club.
It will be a night to remember, its hard to believe when SD come to the club we were averaging 500-700 at home! over 700 away supporters to watch Eastleigh just incredible.. Portland United away in the Wessex League with about 7 of us seems so long ago!
Lets behave, enjoy it and give it a good go!

We are of course entitled to our opinions, but I am staggered that anyone can say York were "very poor". I thought their passing and movement was exceptional, and for a team on the run they were on, barely believable. Admittedly they didn't pose much of a danger up front, but they were tenacious and their determination to play out from the back at every opportunity, was admirable. No way in a million years have York been playing like this all season. I will be amazed if they are anywhere near the relegation places come April. As a game I thought it was pretty good. True we are not as incisive as we need to be, and we did have a number of balls whizzing across the 6 yard box, crying for a foot to be put through it. I am, to be blunt not sure this team is good enough to be where we all want it to be, but I am convinced we need to stay calm, let RM get on with it, and hope for the best. I have absolutely no doubt we are capable of beating Swindon, and right now we just need a result to get a bit of belief to return. Yes the keeper rolled it out, yes they tried to pass it - all in their own half and had nothing going forward. Probably the reason why they are 5th from bottom. Defensively they did a job on us - but so did Southport... Which comes back to the fact we are not killing games off... Regarding the strikers - I agree with Callum, we haven't got a player like a Brodie, Parkin etc But in fairness we haven't had a decent 'target man' since McAllister - Laffayette was signed as a like for like replacement but it didn't work out for him.
As for Jai Reason I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in January.

Disappointing result that considering the scores from today went for us. Would have been up to 6th had we won & 2pts off. York were a very poor side.
Defensively we look good, as we have done for the majority of the season but our problems again lie with our lack of quality in the final third.
We got the goal, looked fine - Santos after a nervy first half grew into the game only to be taken off with 15 minutes to go.
Bizarre substitution in my opinion, why have we put Ryan Bird on in a straight swap for Santos?
I'm no expert but I very much doubt Ryan Bird a 6ft centre forward has spent much time on the right of midfield in his career..
For 5-10 minutes after this we lost our shape, pattern and ultimately conceded the equaliser..
Shades of Jamie Slabber playing in centre midfield under Ian Baird... bizarre.
Still on to Tuesday!
