Dominated possession in the first half, all be it not a great tempo.
First 20mins of the second half we looked decent, got the goal then went back to the slow tempo and let them back in. Had we got that all important second goal it would have been a different story all together.
Positives...Coulson looked fairly sharp when he come on, surely he will start when fully fit.
Why are we playing Howells on the right & Dawson on the left? Can't remember many successful crosses into the box...

Over the 90 minutes I thought a draw was a fair result on the basis neither side really created anything!
We didn't create much going forward but we certainly looked comfortable at the back in the first half - Cresswell & Essam looked fairly solid, neither having a lot to do in all honesty.
I thought the shape was good 4-1-3-2, but with that its narrow and became even narrower when Howells lined up on the right & Jai on the left (As I was told happened Saturday as well). Very narrow... which was a similar case last year.
Mandron looked decent up top with Constable, he will certainly create a lot for us & Pipe did what he's good at.
Only disappointing performances last night for me were Howells who I thought was very one paced and Jai who looked disinterested for the entire 90 minutes.

So with 1 friendly remaining does Toddy know his best XI? The strikers are certainly giving him a good headache!
I'm sure everyone's XI will be different so what would yours be for next Saturday?

Harding has struggled with the physicality in the Conference I'm sure by his own admission...
I agree defensively he is better than Greener, but when we don't have a genuine winger the width comes from our full backs.
When Harding played, Lee Cook had to play on the wing to offer us that outlet down the left and in most cases it worked.
I would have liked to see Harding play with a left winger that offers us width, that way you would fancy our left side to be solid.
IMO his best two matches were against Bolton...
As for Midson & Evans... both lovely blokes - but you cannot go a whole season without scoring and expect to be offered a new contract and Evans quite simply Isn't good enough for a 'title challenging side' - I'm sure somebody like Sutton will snap him up.

Having looked at the current squad and trying to pick my best XI I think the three positions we need quality are;
Centre Back - A rock, simple as that - somebody who can play alongside Turley.
Left Midfielder - Genuine winger, pace & flair
Striker - A BIG MAN! Tubbs/Constable, Constable/Yemi, Tubbs/Yemi didn't work - Midson/Yemi had a brief spell together which worked.
Reckon we need 7-8 signings.

I hope Braintree can pull off something quite special... the on achievement this season they probably deserve it.
From our point of view hope Grimsby go up as they would challenge the top again next season.

Thought we started the game ok, not much in it early on - although not really creating anything we looked ok at the back. Turley picked up a yellow early doors then had a last warning about 10 mins before half time... I'd have taken him off at half time and replaced by Evans because he really was one tackle away from a second yellow... 6/7mins into the second half he gets sent off and we're chasing the game even more. Bizarre why it wasn't done as Evans come on about 10 minutes later to play holding midfield!!
Again we didn't create anything going forward - Constable & Tubbs isn't working, five games for Tubbs, one shot (Against FGR)... We look flat and have no urgency... Will take something special to finish in the play offs now. Answers on a postcard, something is going wrong somewhere...
