Early second half double from coulson, Sutton nearly completing a late fight back after missing a penalty with 5 minutes left.

I couldn't listen to the last 15 minutes. Did they miss the pen or was it saved? From the commentary it sounded like the new keeper had a shaky start but made some great saves in the 2nd half.

New keeper was MOTM and saved the penalty and made some other class saves - certainly kept us from drawing or even losing. Parts and Mika should have made it safer.

One of finest goalkeeping displays I've ever seen at any level.

A very strange game. An absolutely appalling 1st half, we went 2-0 up through excellent strikes from Coulson in the second, and what a sensational back heel from Constable for one of them! We then looked set to batter a weary looking Sutton, then all of a sudden they got a second wind, and we were very fortunate to win, although we could have scored 5 had we taken all our chances. The new keeper had a very shaky start, but grew into the game, and did make some fine late saves. I would have given MOTM to Coulson, who was dangerous every time he had the ball. Why oh why though do we start so poorly?

The fact that the goalkeeper was MoM says it all.
Up to the the goals the game was pretty un-inspiring but we came out of the second half blocks on fire
Then we scored two good goals and ( as seemingly usual ) sat back and let the other side do their worst, and didn't Sutton try to spoil their damdest and, for once, our defence was looking quite shaky. I'm sorry, much as I Love Jai over the years, he is a flair player going forward not a defensive midfielder.
Up to that point I was thinking that Ryan Clarke was not much better than Ross ( if at all ) but then as Sutton pressed and pressed we had two terrific saves, a penalty save and a brand new Spitfire.
Paul Dodswell must be wondering how the hell he didn't come away with a least a point

RMs first signing Ryan Clarke grew as the game went on,infact the S/H he was brill with pen save and the one handed save was out of this world.l will be shocked if he and Coulson are not in the team of the day NLP,tomorrow as well as Reda.

A bit harsh Otterley Stupid. Thought Constable did ok today. Why is it though when nets fail or corner flags break it takes so long for the ground staff to react? Even Ronnie had to run the bloody touch line to drop the flag off! Enjoyed today. The second half was great value. Sutton deserved a point. Clarke was utterly outstanding, some of his saves were the best saves I've seen down at the Silverlake. Still not fully convinced this team can go up but the points keep ticking so must not complain!

I really enjoyed the 2nd half performance, I thought all the goals were good (including the consolation by Stearn). The keeper was excellent but Coulson was my MOM. Another entertaining afternoon at the Silverlake stadium.

I thought Constable played well today and his back heel for the goal was fantastic. Having seen the keepers saves again on Facebook, they were pretty special. They say its a sign of a good team when you win playing badly, and overall I thought we were pretty poor, so maybe that makes us a great team.

A good team performance to win the game. Man for man we just had a bit more quality & that is what will Eastleigh the league. Thank you to everyone making Eastleigh what it is today, &that includes you Mr.Doswell. Wayne Shaw was an absolute gentleman shaking the hands of the Eastleigh players . I think Baird will be on the coaching staff soon, it makes sense 👮

Whilst we are now in a great position and striving towards the summit, the talking point yesterday in the second half was Yemi's two goals for Maidstone. With Lafayette scoring regularly as well for Dover why did we lose them. Constable/Bird have one deflected goal between them which Yemi doubled in minutes. I appreciate the club can't get real quality until the January window so we need Mandron to stay fit and get Wilson back otherwise we are in real trouble upfront, although Jamie could yet surprise us all and play a staring role. Constable frustrates a lot of us, prancing around the pitch with number nine on his shirt and constantly disappearing when the ball does reach the penalty box. He's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot was the comment of the day. Thankfully we have Caulson to help out, three goals, six points.....well done young fella. The other real issue is our lethargic starts, no pace and energy. It might make some of you laugh, but the Rooney problem at Man United is similar to our Constable problem, and look how much more vibrant United were yesterday without him. The game today is about pace and counter attacking on the break, and that's a big part of the Eastleigh problem with Constable in there. Possibly things will click better when Drury is back in midfield and we need to stay in the top five til January and resolve the striker issues. I believe this is a title winning side in the making, and a very impressive goalkeeping debut enhances that view for me. It was harsh on Ross and rumours that he walked out yesterday morning was unprofessional but he had'nt done anything wrong to be dropped to be fair to him, though if he did walk he probably will not play for the team again with RM in charge. Sutton maybe deserved a point at the finish and we continue to hang on in home games, its the goals problem that causes it. RM has to be Manager of the Month so hopefully he gets it this week. When RM came in I said we needed around 29 points after 15 games and he's on target to achieve it with 3 games left, so credit to the management and team. COYS.
