Well that wasn't a bad evening was it?!
Superb crowd, great atmosphere.
Started really well at 100% without getting the goal and just when I thought we'd dropped off a little Luke Coulson popped up with another great strike. Also great to see Ryan Bird score -really great finish from him.
Second half I thought we looked reasonably comfortable until the red card and then up pop Luke with a goal that was even better than the first.
What a player! 6 goals in 5 now I think.
A lot of decent performances tonight - I daresay the big crowd helped a little. Jai looked really up for the occasion, hope he is getting back to his best.

Best first half I have seen from Eastleigh for a very long time. At that level we can win the league. Great tempo, what a performance from Luke. Big question - can we hold onto him?

Unusual us to put a good first half in at home (usually the second) , agree that half was the best I've seen this season. Second half we were decent as well.
Hard to tell how good Maidstone were, they didn't get much of a look in. Good to see Yemi again, he was their only threat.
The Bird/Mandron partnership worked OK - Mandron playing behind a big man is always the best way for me. Bird did quite well, and scored, so we can't ask more than that. Cureton again not needed.......
Silly and avoidable second yellow for Reda, let's hope Cresswell is fit again for Saturday. Dag and Red will be a different proposition and our first big test at home (apart from Dover).
RM comments in the post-match interview spot on, as usual.

Would concur with all that's been said about our performance in both halves. Just a couple of points: 1. Why don't we have a song for Luke? What a player he is! 2. Excellent to have Michael Kurn back on the mic last night. Guess it was a one night stand, but he really is very good in his overall presentation.

What a brilliant evening all round, including the superb playing performance. Full credit to the Maidstone support as well, making themselves heard even after going 2 down.
Re the PA announcing Tony, I think all the announcers have been fine, though I must admit that, for me, I find that "less is more" at times when it comes to PA noise. The PA system was deafening in my part of the main (west) stand at half time and it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

Great night & a great advert for Eastleigh FC.
The first half was as good as we have played all season, 100mph and bombarded the Maidstone box. I haven't been that impressed/seen enough of Jason Taylor so far this season but last night I thought him & Jai dominated midfield and kept the ball moving. The biggest improvement I've seen is compared to the Sutton game - last 20mins whacking it long put us under pressure - last night we kept the ball and didn't panic.
Still early days and 14 games in but this side is gelling well - Ronnie's certainly moving things in the right direction.
Well done to all those involved in organising last nights game which was a success & also the 199 Maidstone supporters - very good effort midweek. Also how refreshing to have Michael back on the PA... keeps it simple.
Just on a separate note for Stewart - what is the approximate completion date for the new clubhouse & is there plans for further ground improvements?

I have never been an optimist, more of a glass half empty than half full, but the more I see of Eastleigh the more I believe that we can get promotion. We now have the players required, so all they need now is to believe in their own ability and have confidence in each other. That is where the experience of RM can be invaluable.

Saturday will be a big test. If we come through that I think we will all start to believe. In football belief is at least half of the battle.

1. Why don't we have a song for Luke? What a player he is! Hi, Oxford City fan here, Fantastic to see the form Couls is in for you guys, we used to sing to the tune of DJ Pied Piper's 'Do you really like it?' "Do you really Luke it, Is it is it Coulson We're lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it We're lovin' it right back( /like that)" (changing depending what position he was playing at the time)

Woooooosh. Bit over my head, but thanks for the feedback. I've been thinking along the Bruce Springsteen track of "Lllllluuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkke"
Sounds like a resounding "boooo" but quite effective when loads do it. Don't suppose it'll catch on, though.

Re completion date, as a guide the shell hopefully completed by December and all fitted out by March.
