What was the name of the pub next to the station? It had closed and been demolished by the time I moved here.

Would have thought that we would struggle to attract 2,000 in the present circumstances. A lot of fans have remained in lockdown because of their susceptibility to infection either because of age and/or underlying diseases. Jill and I fall in the latter group - We haven't been out of the village in 6 months. At the moment, much though we miss our football, we've decided to wait a bit longer before coming back.

Unbeaten Eastleigh at home to MK Dons whose record in League One is W1 D2 L5 and who sit second bottom of the League. Their forum is not very confident of success this evening.

"Would be quite frustrating if we do get someone like Pompey"
As soon as I heard the result yesterday, I said to Jill - "Bet you a fiver that we draw Sunderland or Portsmouth in the next round and no-one will be able to watch the greatest match in Eastleigh's history"

I stand to be corrected but I think the records in "TSSF" do include some competitions that we would not consider as "first team" games today.

Fans may not to be able to return to watch live sporting events in England until the end of March 2021 at the earliest according to the BBC.
At a meeting on Tuesday, sports governing bodies - including those from football, rugby, cricket, Formula 1 and horse racing - were told to prepare for no spectators throughout the winter.

I wonder how many clubs will be able to survive at our level if this shutdown lasts more than a month or so? Having made this decision, the Government has locked non-league football into shutdown until the virus threat is over and all the data suggests that this won't end soon.

Alas, all the indications in the press today refer to taking part in organised sport rather than attending as spectators.

The Government's announcement on restricting groups of people to 6 might suggest that we are in for a long wait before we can watch the Spitfires again.

Is there any chance that we will be actually allowed to go and watch the games? The last I saw from the National League was still looking at a tiny % of the ground capacity being allowed to attend.

The old Ford factory.
The houses closest to the pitch where the "fans" are standing are still there, now painted white. The "dome" has gone replaced by newer build. The pitch has gone, replaced by a newer road (still part of Walnut Avenue) and houses stand on the rest of the pitch where the photo was taken.
You can see it all on Google Maps/street view. The houses in the picture are # 17,18 & 19 Walnut Avenue.
