The club web site has confirmed this weeks FA Youth Cup second qualifying round game is on Thursday 8th October, ko 7.45, against Hamworthy at the Silverlake. Spectators welcome and entry is £5.
This will be the second year scholars, as it is an u18 competition. They play in the National League u19 Youth Alliance in Division E as Eastleigh u19 Yellows. So far this year they have won 4-1 at Aldershot, drawn 1-1 at Dover and beaten Sutton 4-0 at home, all in the league. Eastleigh have been exempt to this round of the FA Youth Cup. From the games I have seen this year I have been most impressed with the team captain at that age group, Jack Mann, but there are also a host of others that look very decent players.
Opponents Hamworthy beat Gosport 6-0 in the preliminary round and Havant & W 3-1 in the first round.
So should be a decent game and well worth the, FA mandated, entrance fee.
The EDS (u19) squad drew 0-0 away at Oxford City on Wednesday whilst the Yellow (u18) and White (17) National Youth Alliance sides, who were both playing Whyteleaf, had their games postponed because of tonight's FA Youth Cup and the fact Whyteleaf also playing in this round.

Good to progress as a youth policy is important to the club. Mangotsfield first team are not having the best of starts having lost their first three league games, but they are a young team and I think it is very possible that some of the first team could be playing for the youth team.

Looking at the Mangotsfield first team that lost at Winchester there were three playing, or coming on as sub, that played in their academy 10-0 win against Yate, including the keeper.

Considering Yate are in mid-table of the division above in which Mangotsfield play and are currently bottom of it is probably surprising that their youth team were beaten 10-0 by Mangotsfield's youth team.
