The Government's announcement on restricting groups of people to 6 might suggest that we are in for a long wait before we can watch the Spitfires again.

Pretty sure also that the non league have said the new season will NOT begin until fans are allowed in otherwise many clubs will fold. Therefore it looks very unlikely the season will begin on schedule on October 3rd because of the ruling of 6 people in groups. That said, if the government allows pubs and clubs to remain open so long as there are not more than 6 at a table and everyone is doing social distance regulations, then football attendance should be fine I imagine as well. But certainly not looking good if the government have already stopped Doncaster Race Meeting opening their doors from today for fans. Word is the 6 rule will apply until January so we could have a season wipe out instead.

Not overly sure what the in the groups of 6 being mentioned on here is about? Or how that affects football. Last two nights at Shepton Mallet and Baffins I've been temperature checked on the way in, details taken, stayed away from people by following the guidelines, 18 games in so far in open air I've not died yet. Capacity at Step 5 is 300 so we can have atleast 300 in right now , think it's even higher for Step 3 and 4 leagues. FA is complicit in killing football clubs before it's eyes , time for clubs to overrule and get on with things.

Alas, all the indications in the press today refer to taking part in organised sport rather than attending as spectators.

Sadly there is a blatant disregard amongst too many people (of various age groups) for the clear precautions which have been repeatedly publicised and explained in all forms of media for many months. I don't know whether they are too stupid to understand or just have no interest in their own and others' health, but I won't go into either West Quay or Fareham Town Centre after the behaviour which I've experienced recently amongst a large proportion of the people visiting those areas. That means I miss the pleasure of spending time and money in certain favourite caffs and bars but I just don't want to take the risk. The conundrum for the football "authorities" is that the evidence of the irresponsible behaviour we see in general public areas can't give them any confidence that any rules they try to apply to match attendance will be observed. The redundancies are already starting to ramp up in the private sector as businesses face the realities of loss of their regular business. Unless people are prepared to be responsible and help to prevent the inevitable increased spread of this disease which we are now seeing, it has to be expected that gate dependent football clubs will face the same struggles.

The FA have confirmed today the 600 at steps 3 and 4 and 300 at steps 5 and 6 still stand.

Most interesting point is 'match play is not considered close contact, therefore if a player has tested positive the game can still go ahead providing they don't show symptoms'
Ok so players showering, grappling , tackling, hugging at corners, isnt considered close contact by the FA. Let's get fans in at a 1m distance ffs. What's stopping them?

www.eastleighfc.com/statement-update-on-return-of-supporters/In light of the Government’s COVID-19 update on Wednesday, September 9th, Eastleigh Football Club can confirm that our planned release of season tickets for the 2020/21 has been delayed. We were prepared to share an update on season tickets this week, but the club has decided to delay this information until we are more clear on the proposed guidance for allowing supporters back into stadiums. Once information has been received from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, the club will proceed with releasing details about season tickets. We can confirm that the club has been looking into the possibility of live streaming games online, and further information on this will also be shared once there has been an update from DCMS. Eastleigh Football Club would like to thank the supporters for their patience and understanding in the delay of this information, we are desperate to have the Spitfires fanbase back in the stands as soon as possible.

Well I see the club's been optimistic and advertised the Torquay game on 6th Oct on the boards on Stoneham Way.
Appreciated the Twitter update from the club, clearly better to hold off until they have more clarity.
