A smaller coach/minibus is surprisingly not a great deal cheaper than a 47 seater coach and we do not have the budget to be making losses like this.
Everything has been done to try and resolve the situation, including at looking at smaller coaches/minibus (see above) and a decision had to be made to cancel the coach.
However, all those booked on the coach are now car sharing so that we can still go and support the team. The support of the fans means an awful lot to the players, management and coaching team (no pun intended.....). Let’s get behind the lads.

Did'nt take long did it. When its even more pricey, Barrow, Gateshead, Hartlepool to name a few, they'll get cancelled too. Just keep looking after the corporates and charging ordinary supporters £3 to enter a bar. It's a bloody shame but you've priced it out of reach when you start offering cheap travel to Spitfire Club members, everyone joins up, but then you don't get enough money in to pay for the coach. That's what TSSC has done for its own ends, to get memberships up. Coach travel should be ONE PRICE fits all, regardless of age and memberships. Why is it concession at the football club is aged 60+ (ST/Ground Entry) but on the coach its 65+ Firstly Keith, this is exactly why we lost £25000 on travel last season Secondly, if you’d like to check the prices, Dover is actually cheaper this year than it was last year.

Good warning Keith. Stewards are an absolute disgrace

We have to start Cav and Zeb and if we’re playing 3-4-3 as we seemed to be attempting at Sutton, Danny Hollands certainly isn’t our play maker. Would love to see earlier changes made as players tire - leaving it to the 70th minute is losing us games. The introduction of Cav and Zeb livened up the game against Sutton.

Sadly a poor performance and was very disappointed to see Cav and Zeb absent from the starting line up again. Our midfield seems to be struggling massively and we’re not getting the passes up through the wingers or central midfield players without getting caught out by the opposition.
Nope - the pitch didn’t help, the ref was one of the worst I’ve seen and some of their players tackles were pretty nasty. Mark Yeates looked in agony when he went down and did well to continue.
Didn’t look like a penalty from our pitch-side dugout but Jamie Collins couldn’t wait to get one over his old team. Ross Lafayette played dirty throughout the match and did his upmost to constantly foul Reda. Best chances came in the last ten minutes after the introduction of Zeb and Cav and Stack probably had the best chance to get a late equaliser.
Hugely impressed with the new coach which was extremely comfortable, air conditioned and very spacious. Bring on Barnet......

In addition, we should mention the fact that we do not have a large “pot of money” in the bank which we were assuming would put us in a very strong financial position. Stewart is not allowed to have any involvement whatsoever and the FA are ensuring this. However the contractual agreements will cover the players wages this season.
I really felt a positive vibe last night and a feeling that we’re all in it together to take our club back to how it was a number of years ago. Kenny acknowledged that the atmosphere, feelings and general attitudes lately have been lacking - possibly due to the lack of stability we’ve had.
Andy sounded very enthusiastic about the squad. Good to hear some scholars have been given numbers and that our new signings are young and keen to work their socks off. No disrespect to RH, but I really do think that Andy can now go about his managerial duties more freely and with the full support of our board, Strevs and Rossco.
Here’s to a positive new season!

Given it’s the fan’s forum tonight, that’s no doubt the best time to ask both the club and TSSC about this to get the facts right and to understand the reasoning for the delay in getting the joint statement out.
I somehow have my doubts that the keyboard warriors who constantly criticise us will be there though and would rather continue to make their (often inaccurate) judgements and assumptions on here.....

Some of TSSC committee members are out of the country enjoying much needed holidays at the moment. I don’t think it’s fair to be honest expecting immediate answers to all these questions. Please be patient and no doubt your questions will be answered in due course.
Remember we are all here to show our support for Eastleigh Football Club. The recent purchases made by TSSC for instance, can only happen through support and financial contributions from membership and fundraising events.

I'm looking closely at Salford too Michael, two title winning promotions in a row, the 'Man United 5' have the money. They've got a superb new manager with the only problem could be his lack of knowledge at this level. Think Salford might try to sign Rowe, and maybe Akinde too, they will be serious challengers no doubt. Inclined to agree on most of your points SOE, but haven’t we proven that money can’t buy your way out of this league...?

"Sorry Mark but you already sound like you are shifting deck chairs, not inspiring..." I listened and thought the exact opposite. It is what I wanted to hear - a sensible and realistic assessment. No trying to buy our way to the FL, no plans to rebuild the ground to a level we could never hope to fill unless we pulled Saints or Pompey in the FA Cup. The immediate priority is to stay in this league rather than have dreams of more at this stage. Agree with you there Tony. At the end of each season, we heard SD aspiring to get into the football league and to be playing at Championship football within five seasons. As a result of these (IMHO) unrealistic ambitions, fans are expecting us to be winning every match and winning the league. We still have ambition and I believe a top ten finish will be a more realistic aim for next season. Let’s give the new board a chance and see what happens once the season is underway. Hopefully the fans’ forum will provide the opportunity to air views/opinions and ideas. In the meantime we can only hope that Hessy makes some good positive signings and be given the freedom and the budget to fully carry out his role as first team manager.

I managed to collar one of our younger lads today and he reckons the lot that were chopped down last season are going to make a comeback. I told him they were missed as the atmosphere is flat without them. Hopefully that comes to fruition, I'll certainly back them up should the stewards get on their backs! Great to see/hear many of the youngsters back in the Mackoy on Saturday. I do find it very surprising that there has been no mention of the flare set off by the away fans though. Nothing on FB or on here as far as I can see; just comments about what a great bunch of fans they were (and the majority were - we enjoyed their company in the Hangar before the match). Just thinking this would be a completely different scenario if it was set off by our own fans...
