Chesterfield? - the self proclaimed "Manchester United of the National League". They will find it just as hard as Lincoln, Tranmere, Wrexham, Orient, Torquay and Hartlepool

Chesterfield do have an excellent stadium, saw it on tv when England U17 played the other night. It is better than Tranmere's if you've been there.

Skybet know nothing about this league and their odds reflect that...what a complete farce. How can they conclude that Havant have a better chance of winning the league at 25/1 than Maidenhead 50/1, Gateshead and Bromley 40/1 and Harrogate Town 33/1. Those four teams can win both games against Havant next season. We already know Havant will have the most games postponed next season because of their awful draining system, yet skybet thinks they are a 25/1 shot for the title!!
To quote us at 33/1, ahead of Maidenhead, Gateshead and Bromley is very generous, doesn't look like the squad is going to change very much judging by the retained list, we'll be one of the favourites in the relegation market along with Braintree, Barrow, Havant, and Maidstone.

33/1 about right for us. All guess work of course.

To me, Orient look a good bet at 12/1.
I feel it may be too early for Salford; Chesterfield could make the playoffs under MA (if he lasts out the season). Barnet should be up there.
Not sure why Maidenhead are so low - they were very solid last season.
I think even at present we're better than most of the teams around/below us in the betting (apsrt from Gateshead and Barrow). But as ever it depends massively on summer recruitment. And with half our squad already tied to contracts, we don't have as much flexibility as others.

I think the fact that Havant and Waterlooville were promoted to the National League as champions would make them a better bet than Braintree who finished 6th in the same division. Interestingly enough Salford who also went up as champions are now joint favourites.
I think that H&W have fewer postponements than we last played against them.

Its obviously very early days but I think 33/1 is about right for us at the moment.
Agree that Leyton Orient at 12 and Barnet at 14 look decent value.
25/1 sounds quite low for H&W, but I think bookies will often be a bit cautious with a newly promoted team who are a bit of an unknown. Plus the fact the have won their league for the last 2 seasons running. Would certainly be an incredible story if they made it 3 in a row!

Borehamwood and Fylde will be the two teams to beat.

Bet Borehamwood are bottom half next season. For me Fylde, or Salford for the title.

I'm looking closely at Salford too Michael, two title winning promotions in a row, the 'Man United 5' have the money. They've got a superb new manager with the only problem could be his lack of knowledge at this level. Think Salford might try to sign Rowe, and maybe Akinde too, they will be serious challengers no doubt.

Inclined to agree on most of your points SOE, but haven’t we proven that money can’t buy your way out of this league...?

Gateshead going part-time, that should improve our chances...
