This match still doesn't appear on the fixtures page. Is it still at the Silverlake on the 14th Dec?
If so, it could mark my return after my recent illness.

Not a draw that Barnsley would welcome with their rock bottom position in the Championship. A distraction they could do well without and not much money from the gate be it us or Crewe at home.
Barnsley Forumites seem of the same mind -
"It's a **** draw whichever one of them we get. No money in it, and a fair chance we'll get knocked out."
"Own up, who’s just googled to see where Eastleigh is?"
" A cup run might not be the best thing for us if i'm honest."

Not surprised by an attendance of 1,800. Too many factors were against us - a Saturday night match clashed with other plans; League 2 opposition whose fans had a near 400 mile round road trip; plus Saints at home. We have a lot of retired age season ticket holders and many of those supporters tend not to attend evening games even those on a Tuesday night - no public transport and driving in the dark are issues for many.

"It wasn't one of those Rolly Polly Goally pies which brought this on by any chance was it?"
No, those are nearly instantly fatal and are banned under the Chemical Weapons treaties.

Great to be able to report that I was well enough to sit at home and listen to the match on the radio last night. Some might have noticed that Jill and I (Tony) have been absent from our seats in the main stand for the last few weeks.
Back in October, I collapsed without warning at home and had to be rushed by ambulance to the General. I was told later that I had no pulse for part of the journey. The diagnosis was Sepsis, a life threatening bacterial infection and my life was saved only by massive doses of i.v. antibiotics. Thank you NHS, I'll never have a bad word about you. I've still got to go back to have some plumbing and a stent removed next week but, at least, I'm no longer the unattractive bright orange colour that I've been of late. I've also lost about 20% of my weight
I'm still not well enough to come to matches but at least I'll be able to watch the Crewe game on the box. Hope to see our many friends at EFC soon
Tony

Sutton, Dagenham and Bromley are all stuck at Euston Station ahead of their games at Fylde, Stockport and Solihull respectively. Dover also reported missing on route to Barrow. Presumably didn't want the expense of Friday night hotels.

Just over a third of the season gone (16 of 46) and EFC are only a point (and a few goals) off the play-off spots !!
That's a lot better than it looked a couple of weeks ago.

Mangotsfield - we played them at the Silverlake in a FA Cup qualifying round in 2013. They had a small but loud group (about 5 strong) of fans. The game was running late for some reason and as the final whistle approached they came up with the unique chant of "5 o'clock and we're still in the Cup" despite being 4-0 down.
The game attracted a massive gate of 238.

Happy to be an Eastleigh fan this evening. Imagine having to watch that miserable bunch every week.
