Not sure where initial poster got the info from but perhaps they mentioned in summary on the Solent commentary. Yes, Wayne mentioned it during the match.
BTW Jill & I set out for the match in good time and drove straight into a solid jam on the local roads near J7 of the motorway. The best part of 45 minutes later we managed to extract ourselves and set off to the back road via Fair Oak and Eastleigh Town Centre. Hit another 2 jams and it was obvious that we'd miss the kick off so had to drive past the ground and back home via J5 to listen to Solent..

They seem to have full sides at U23 and U21 to choose from as well as their first team. They met in competition tonight with the U23's winning 6-1.

"The way the pitch was cutting up and with the rain forecast this week touch and go as to whether next week's game will be on."
The level of water in the drains around the ground and especially in the Monks Brook itself (across the link road) suggests that the ground water level remains very high even after a week of not particularly high rainfall.

Picked up our tickets for the FAT game at Lunchtime. Apparently the club got a referee in this morning and the pitch passed inspection despite yesterday's monsoon. No more heavy rain forecast.

Not to mention a decent additional cash return to add to the FA Cup prize/TV money. Winner of the FAT walks away with a near 6-figure total in prize money.

Martin, I agree with you - "I would suggest that the club has been run on a more sustainable basis in the past 18mths, last season's play off semi final was more than we expected". I'd add to that the very unexpected level of FA Cup income this term - over £100,000 including the TV money for the Crewe game.
The days when we feared for the club's future when SD left seem to be behind us. The club seems to be living within its means without daydreams about a 10,000 capacity and the like.

4 points taken off a team at the edge of the play-offs. I'd take that anyday.

"Very surprising."
This really is no surprise at all given the blocked watercourses that have been left unsorted all over the area as a result of building the new estates.

A round back of us, Sholing won in the 3rd Qualifying match at Paulton Rangers (both from the Southern League Div 1 South). At last a decent win in the Trophy after just one victory in the last 5 Round One appearances - the hall of shame of Hemel Hempstead, Ebbsfleet, Harlow Town and Gateshead can be forgotten.
A good victory against a Yate Town side who never gave up despite being 5-0 down and who grabbed a consolation goal in the 73rd minute. Our highest-ever score in the Trophy.
On a personal note so good to be back at the Lane after nearly 3 months absence.
