Luke Coulson should not be put in a difficult situation. It is a huge honour, both for Luke and EFC for him to be picked to play for England. I think he should be encouraged to play for his country. If we miss out on him for the one game - tough.

A fair result IMO. The ball did cross the line in the first half for Swindon, but it would be hard to argue that wasn't a fair result. Swindon reminded me of Forest Green at times; but whereas FG have some end product, Swindon didn't generally. Didn't particularly rate Swindon and if we play anywhere near our potential we are more than capable of getting another result. Fair play to the keeper RC had another terrific match. What a great character he is.
I know James Constable gets a lot of grief on this forum, but he played well in that second half, and in the last few minutes, when others were looking tired, he was still chasing down lost causes. More of that and we can still make round 2.

I think we lack pace at the back in general, and because of this we cannot be exposed like we were for the first goal. Fact is we are currently not playing as well as we are capable. This means either the players aren't as good as we think they are, or we are not playing a system we are comfortable with. I am a fan of RM, but fact remains since he has taken over, yes results have been impressive, but performances in generally haven't been. I thought we were pretty poor for the large part on Tuesday; we got away with it against Torquay, but we won't get away with it against the better sides.
I am sure the players will raise their game against Swindon, that needs to be the start of a purple patch, which sees our team in the play offs within a few weeks. I don't think there needs to be a load of doom and gloom, but I do think we need a dose of reality, and the reality is this current side are not playing like a guaranteed play off side - and we should be.

I saw an hour and had had more than enough by then. For me a big problem is how we start games. Time after time we start slowly and that can, as in this case, set the tone for the game. What I can't understand is why RC was left so exposed for the first goal. Its one long ball, 1 against 1 and their guy was much quicker. Someone of RC's experience should know not to make contact, as soon as he does its game over. For me that is naive defending.
However there is a much bigger point here. We have to be stronger, smarter and more resilient. To fold as we did so easily, suggests to me, we need to man up and quickly. I still see this team as a play off chasing team, but talk of the title borders on the fantasy.

Well done to everybody who made the trip. I will be one of those who will see it in the clubhouse. Lets hope we are all celebrating a famous victory.

They wouldn't show it, if overall, they didn't make money out of it. It really is that simple.

Suits me, means I get to spend more time with the family. I know the traditions being sacrificed at the altar of TV, upsets a lot of people, but traditions change. The game is nothing like the one I started watching in 1965, and in 20 years time it'll be nothing like the one we are watching today. As always, those with the money will decide the direction it goes. It's not just football, it's everything under the sun. Welcome to the wonders/joys/horrors of capitalism everybody!

Last night was a very special night for young Callum, he is the oldest of my two grandsons at 10 (I do have 6 granddaughters!), and he told me some while ago he would love to see Eastleigh play. This being half term, it seemed an ideal opportunity. I am lucky enough to be able to use the executive club these days, and Callum came in with his Granny and I to enjoy a wonderful meal, before settling down to watch the match. He came with me and Rendel so was behind the goal which Eastleigh were attacking. He had a great time went home with a hat and a scarf and was really pleased with his evening, he couldn't stop talking about it.
My purpose in writing this post is to flag up a few of the people at EFC who helped make his evening such a great experience. The first person we saw was Jai Reason, as he arrived in his car. He gave us a really warm friendly smile and hello, and immediately became Callum's favourite footballer. In the exec club, Chris did his normal brilliant job. In case you don't know it Chris is a fantastic advert for our club, he is very friendly, totally efficent and nothing is ever too much trouble. The two ladies in there with him, were a delight. When Callum's Granny wanted orange juice, they didn't have it, but ten minutes later they had obtained some. The food (beef curry) was superb as was the lemon cheese cake.
The game had some language which Granny would rather not have heard, but she took it in the spirit it was intended, and even though the first half was turgid, Callum was very happy and enjoying himself. At half time more drinks and biscuits, and then we walked round to the club house end: room was made for him to be down at the front and Callum loved the drumming, the singing, the goal celebrations and the whole atmosphere of the game; at the end he was keen to clap the players, and go through what he had seen. Back in the Executive club, for a sit down and more drinks, he was an excited 10 year old chatterbox, keen to see the club shop, which we visited. It was still open at 10 and a lovely lady, was very chatty and friendly to Callum asking if one day he might like to be a mascot, saying this was possible if he became a regular, when he realised this would mean he would be walking on the pitch with the players, he almost burst with excitement.
I would like to thank everyone at the club for making this such a lovely evening for one young boy. Almost certainly now, to be a life long football fan. It make me very proud to support this great club. To everyone who was a part of our evening yesterday. You made a bid difference. Thank you one more.

In the first half we were awful. Second half much better and it must be said the introduction of Mandron, made a helluva difference. One of my grandsons first football match and he absolutely loved it. Sign of a good side winning playing badly, suggests we are a very good side.

Brilliant news. Not the ideal time for me, but that is a minor point. Fantastic world wide exposure, plus a few bob, and a great chance of making round 2.
