This is on the Southend forum
Just introducing myself to you all; I'm the disability liaison officer at Eastleigh FC. I appreciate you've probably heard that one of our stands is being renovated but wanted to reassure you all that we will have seating available by Saturday!
Initial allocation is 700 tickets but this can be increased (nearly 500 sold so far) if necessary. There are 530 seats in the Nuffield Health stand plus standing in the East terrace and wheelchair users can also be accommodated at pitch level in the former.

One further point, our vocal support is awful. We must have the worst vocal support in the league. Its embarrassing. [/quote]
Worst decision ever getting rid of the roof behind the goal and now all the away fans are pushed together under a lovely low roof that amplifies their noise

Spirit you criticise away have no problem with that. Equally I will challenge and despite you being a tough old timer you do seem to have a problem if someone disagrees with you...
It was the job interview questions you made up the other day I was referring to.

Bottom line has to be that Stewart paid for people to travel round the country and sold them the story that we were going on an adventure that would mean promotion and league football. It's a pretty easy sell when backed up with large amounts of money.
Unfortunately, the story today is that we want you to come with us but you'll have to pay the going rate and the aim is that we are going to try and stay in this league if we can! Not such an easy sell, given that the attraction of fairly priced entertainment pulled in a lot of disillusioned Premier League fans who couldn't/wouldn't pay £40 a pop to watch that level of football but don't really have any loyalty to Eastleigh.
The truth of the matter is standing at The Silverlake cheering your team on in the cold/rain does not compare to the package offered by Sky & BT who are selling the same dream Stewart did without having to leave your lounge.
We got the kids in because it was so cheap for them and something different but you have to work bloody hard to keep a young audience focused and it was always going to depend on success on the pitch for that audience.
Still onwards and upwards fair play to TSSC who are working hard for the fans and for those working hard please ignore the drivel spouted by some who are so heavily weighed down by the chips on their shoulder that they have to make things up to get attention.

Not surprised they asked you those questions Spirit given the drivel you spout it's bloody hard to tell most of the time

Think the police have to manage the situation as it is Spirit and don't think starting a riot over a pile of rubbish would be a good plan, do you? Especially as there are probably only 2 or 3 officers within a 50 mile radius!!

This is one strange league, again, 3 games in and only half the teams have won a game. Only the mighty Eastleigh have not drawn a game

They've had a mixed start with a good point at Aldershot and 2 dropped at Home to Braintree. Although you could look at it another way, that they have played 2 teams that haven't won a game, while we have lost to 2 of the top 7!!! Hopefully we will mix it up a bit and give Zeb & Cav a start, cannot say that I am holding out much hope for anything more then another defeat. Fingers crossed I'm wrong and we start the season tomorrow and get our first 3 points

Morning Spirit, not sure anyone has said you know nothing about football? It's not often we talk about football on here, so think that is where the drivel comes from, if we stick to the footy I'm sure we could remain drivel free :-)

Here we go again, is the collapse of Saturday going to spur us on tonight? Sutton had the opposite with a last minute equaliser in what was probably a good point for them.
Same team or do we go with Zeb from the start and give Cav a starting place which I was surprised to see he didn't have on Saturday?

The Club got it wrong they realised they got it wrong and said they will put it right, yet 2 days after they said they would put it right Spirit is on here slagging off the Club. No issue with you having your say Spirit and it doesn't have to be a positive say as far as I'm concerned, but to still be slagging off the club for a mistake they have admitted and said they will rectify 48 hours ago is a bit daft. The mistakes that have caused the club to seek alternative revenue streams were made by the previous incumbent and sent him running when he realised how serious those mistakes were.
One thing is for certain SD will either succeed at Sunderland or it will bankrupt him he won't be back here, he is currently getting the adoration of 30k supporters and plenty of national media attention, Eastleigh couldn't give him that and never will be able to.
Final point, even though the forum hasn't got any better without him I think Nobad should be disciplined for mentioning that name :-)

We bossed that half, Josh Hare looked good unlucky not to have scored.

Think who the goalkeeper is is probably irrelevant, but the position does highlight the issues we could face this season. We have a large number of players who are earning more then we can afford, in the final year of their contracts. If those players are of the view that they need to put themselves in the shop window by having a bloody good season then we may get a top half finish and have a pretty good season. However, the club has made it pretty clear that this season is one of consolidation and that the high earners will be leaving at the end of April, therefore if anyone has a good start to the season and another club makes an offer to take them off our payroll early on surely we will take it. Alternatively if we are having a bad run of form, can we rely on players who know they will be gone in May, to dig deep and get us out of trouble. Personally I think we will probably struggle and it will take a massive performance from the management team to get this squad into the top 10. A relegation battle is almost certain but think AH may just have the ability to get us safe. There is nothing to fall back on anymore and it will require a whole lot of unity to make this season a positive one, unfortunately we seemed to lose that unity when we did have the money so will be interesting to see how the fan base reacts if we do struggle.

It's no wonder SD buggered off to Sunderland (couldn't have gone much further) when people are still playing stupid games over an argument that happened on a forum nearly 2 years ago, sort of expect it from some of the younger fans on facebook but old men like us should know better....
