Whether bringing Ayo on was the right decision (it wasn’t) the point is we should not be 2-0 down to a team below us so that decision should never need to be made. I’ll talk about RH’s disgraceful interview elsewhere.

I had to leave just after the Gateshead equaliser to get to a gig, heard the cheer for the winner as I passed the lakeside cafe. Gutted to miss the goal but I’m happy to take one for the team and leave 5 minutes early every game if it means we win.

Let’s hope it goes ahead, I think we’d take the weather being a leveller for us at the moment!
I’m going for a scrappy 1-0 to the Spitfires but a performance that doesn’t convince the doubtful amongst us.

Personally I think the aim is a good mid table position. Not sure that it has moved for me at all, other then if we had found someone to score lots of goals we may have been challenging for a play off spot, but that's probably more hope then an aim. I'm sure the club/board/manager would have been aiming higher, but looking at the situation in August I'm not sure realistically we could have looked at much more then mid-table for this season. I agree. I've seen nothing this season that suggests this is the year for the great push upwards. Once again, we are not hitting the back of the net often enough to be contenders and recent games have seen our inability to hang on when defending a lead. A third of the league season gone, I'd certainly be happy with a mid-table place at the end of 2017/18. I wasn't expecting a push upwards this year but my big concern is given the average age of the squad - I make it the second oldest in the top 5 divisions, only beaten by West Brom - is that we are just writing off another year as we'll be replacing at least half the squad again at the end of the season. I will however be bringing two friends to the Solihull game, it's important to support the club and I don't think theyre under any illusions that it's going to be like watching Barcelona, just some live football and a couple of beers with mates.

The first goal was conceded after we gave away possession in the Bulls' half when we had players forward in space to build an attack but we just punted the ball around aimlessly in the air with a hope and a prayer. Unsurprisingly Hereford picked up a loose ball and took the initiative to win their fatal free kick in front of the Eastleigh goal before we could react. I don't think either Mr Hill or Mr Hessenthaler are teaching that kind of football in training. Given what I’ve seen this season, I think that must be exactly what they’re teaching in training and if not then their ability to get players to do as they’re asked has got to be severely questioned. These are the players RH signed/kept so he and they have to take responsibility.

Here’s Richard Hill not making excuses, obviously one dodgy free kick and the abuse of Hoyte are the only reasons we lost today. To be fair he almost admitted the quality of our play was the reason but just couldn’t bring himself to say it.

Is it really a new low in the past 14 years losing to a lower league team in the cup? Or is it just a bad month and we are now up there to be shot at? For me it’s not losing to a lower league, it’s the poor quality of performance and style of play.

Pretty clueless in attack, we didn’t create any chances in open play. Pretty much got what we deserved, not pretty to watch, still back to the league.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40993250Thie first story in this link is about this subject (with a link to the new FIFA proposals), with SoE absolutely right with 54/55 minutes the average game time. What I don't understand is the new proposals are to reduce it to two halves of 30 minutes with the clock stopped when ball not in play, surely with the understanding that the timekeeping can't be exact we'll end up with what we have now (at least now there is the possibility of over 60 minutes play) If refs just applied the current rules properly then we'd have 15-20 minute injury time periods for about a month until players realised there was no benefit to wasting time. I'd also say why can injuries be seen to in the pitch with out stopping play, this would mean serious injuries are attended to immediately and there would be no benefit to players feigning injury to stop play and waste time.

A great result! Macca made a real difference coming on (I agree with the earlier post the Zeb was looking good but the ref did seem to have a problem with him). In terms of us needing another dangerous striker, I think Paul McCallum will be that man if we can keep him fit.
The signs are good with a team clearly developing in each game together.

Can't we go via Clapham Junction then overground to Gospel Oak to Leyton Midland Road?

I thought Luke was an excellent player for us and it's a real shame it hasn't worked out for him at a higher level. Im not sure how much credit I'd give MA in selling him as I think it was almost certain Luke was moving on before he got here. Which of our rivals is Mandron going to end up at?

Happy with this (spoke to a Bournemouth friend who rates him as a player and character).
Welcome to Eastleigh!

12 goals in 33 games last year looks good to me. I'd say the injury prone tag is bit unfair given he suffered a serious injury the season before and if the attitude problem is he doesn't work hard enough but scores goals - I'll take it!
Welcome to Eastleigh FC Paul!
