I hope he does play against us, I thought he was slow and ponderous and think Wilson with his pace could give him a very difficult afternoon.

I would say Muggleton is unlikely to play with the re-signing of Greener. I think Stack could do a job as GK coach and experienced cover for Clarke (whilst developing Childs). i think it's unfair to judge Hoyte as he's been out and whilst he hasn't impressed I think Togwell has the character to stay and fight for a place - let's be honest we could do with a period of stability squad wise!

I travelled yesterday in hope rather than expectation of a shock, it was always going to need Brentford to have an off day and unfortunately they were not far off their best! but let's not forget they are one league off the premiership we are one off the football league itself.
Apart from the first 45 minutes of the game yesterday I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day - a great turn out from the spitfires who easily out sang the home fans.
Finally, a thank you to the club and players for another fantastic FA cup adventure this year.

A great addition to both playing and coaching staff.
Do we know when Clarke is due back? As I guess that will inform whether Huddart stays for now.

As we are unlikely to win the cup (not being negative just realistic!), I would love any prem team at home for the occasion or Ipswich at home (for my dad).

Think it was Ross Stearn on commentary that's what solents Twitter said before the game. Got a little excited..... Ah thanks. Yes its fair to say he was showing a certain bias - claiming for a penalty before Mandron put it in!

Well that feels like a win!
Definitely a lot of work for MA to do, was an interesting selection with Partington in midfield and Pipe at RB (not entirely sure it worked but may do given time). I agree we missed Taylor defensively in second half, was great to see Ryan Bird back, also think it's tough to blame Huddart (first was deflected and third was down to Essam) but agree Clarke is a massive miss for us - let's be honest it would be nice if we could play the same GK and CB's for a few games in a row!
The spirit shown to get back into the game is a huge positive and let's hope we can take that on into the lrest of the season!
PS Can anyone confirm that it's Cresswell going crazy on commentary over the BBC highlights for the equaliser - absolutely love it!

Agreed! I'm hoping for a comfortable 3-0 but will accept (possibly expect) a nervy 1-0 scoring in the last minute!

Sorry to see him go (a player I've always rated highly) but I respect his reasons for moving on and can only wish him all the best for the future.

I agree SWB. I guess the issue is as the home team we are expected to go out for the win allowing the opposition to frustrate and then counter on us - most teams will think a draw at our place as a good result. How we change our style of play during the game (and use of substitutions here are the key) to defeat an organised team is what RM is paid for, so far it doesn't seem he has an effective plan B.

A pretty dire affair! but it's only one game of our season and can only hope we are not that bad again. Our need for a proper goal scorer (or Beano to find form) was clearly highlighted. There's no point getting the ball in the box if there is no one there to attack it (I like mandron and wilson but they aren't great in the air) and whatever the question Cureton is not the answer, at 1-0 up opponents will sit deeper so he won't get in behind them and you can't hit it in the air to him. I don't share the level of despair of others on here - it was bad day at the office (we all have them) lets put it behind us and move on. Its only one game of the season - I agree, but so were York, Southport, Woking, Braintree, & Gateshead all of which we drew when we should or could have won So were Dover and Barrow where we got battered If we had 10 points from those 5 draws we would be well placed in 3rd. How long should we watch todays rubbish & keep saying its only one game - when do we get to the point where we say I don't share the level of despair of others on here - it was bad season at the office (we all have them) lets put it behind us and move on. I agree that we could (possibly should) have won those 5 games but I definitely don't think we played as badly in them as we did today (I would only put Dover up there with today's performance). I'm in the camp that says RM should definitely be given at least the season (I would say judge him after two) but obviously in the unlikely event we play that badly every game then I would change my mind - let's hope we get the team that turned up at Swindon for every game til the end of the season!! Can I also say I wasn't blaming Mandron or Wilson just that we aren't playing to their strengths.
