I think this is a great thread because reading about other fans expirences reminds me why I started watching football. My first game was at fratton park in 1994, pompey v Wolves. Wolves won 2-1 after Gerry Creany had put pompey in front. I was only 14 but enjoyed the whole match day expiirence and the smell of hot bovril. For me going to football isnt just about the result, its an escape from reality for a few hours and even though every game isnt a classic I still get the same buzz coming away from the ground sometimes. Football just isn't football without bovril :-)

Fear not - it was just a bit of a joke really going by some recent posts!! It is interesting to hear about people's first matches - can't believe you all remember so far back. I'm sure my first match was at the Dell but ask me the opponents and the date I wouldn't have a clue lol. BTW great post Sattsy - I'm a pretty new supporter and now look forward to the games week in week out. We are all there to give our team the support they deserve - be us old fans or new ones. SD has worked wonders getting more people to come along with these free games and if we can get a few more season tickets sold because of them, then it's working well (I've managed to collar in a couple more friends to be season ticket holders after one of our free matches) :-)

Sounds to me like another 'who is Eastleigh's greatest/most loyal/longest surviving/best friend of Stewart's fan thread. *rolls eyes*!!

I could be wrong here but I seem to remember someone saying along the lines of Eastleigh not having been involved in a 0-0 draw for at least 18 months or so. Anyone got the stats on this? Just interested.....
Poor game today which has put the play offs even further away, especially with Tranmere and Braintree winning today. Midson and Tubbs (well for his short period so far) I have never been a fan of. Yemi worked his socks off as usual and Matty looked a great prospect. Hope Dan and Will are both ok.
Bring on a big fat 3 points from Torquay. The lads are so much better than today's performance suggested.

I thought Bromley was segregated as all their fans seemed to be in the Mackoy or end of West stand but then I couldn't understand why we were all leaving together out of the same exits. Surely that's the time where, if emotions are running high, then incidents can happen??!

...... I am really looking forward to Friday, shouting and supporting my team, having a beer and I predict we will win 4v0. And how do you think Eastleigh will get on? Hahaha good one US - gave me a giggle!!

Which doesn't mean that they can't turn it around against us. I'm sure that CT & the team won't be as complacent as you appear to be, boyatthood. Yes of course they'll turn up and give us a game, it would unprofessional of them not to. But really we should fully expect three points against this team and if they are ruthless enough in front of goal then it could be 4v0. Three points at this stage of the season is all that counts so another Bromley 'do the job' performance will be fine. But if it's anything like this game, I might sit in the bar for the second half! What wonderful support to the lads on the field when you're sitting in the bar enjoying a few beers

Agree Yemi is much better suited as a striker and couldn't really understand the turnaround when Turley came off, Beano on but moving Yemi back again. I can see Toddy was going for a more attacking side but I'm convinced we need to keep Yemi up front. Just not sure who he works best with yet as Tubbsy didn't blow me away on Tuesday night.

Great game, great result. As you said, Coulson is looking like a fantastic signing and Yemi ran his legs off the whole time he was on the pitch. Our style of football has returned to a much better passing game and there seemed to be more communication between the players. Well done lads :-)

What's going on with all these cards? Think Toddy needs to send them all for some anger management sessions

Interesting to see Toddy changing the side around a bit. Really rated Coulson on Tuesday night - he seems a very versatile player but, much as I'm a big Beano fan, I'd love to see Tubbs up front with Yemi. Wish he'd give Tony Lee a run out occasionally too - with his impressive scoresheet at Totton maybe he could do a Lafayette and come on to get a goal in the last ten minutes! Just a thought....

I know these comments are from a while back but I felt the need to give a big shout out for Luke Coulson - very exciting player who reads the game well and covers much of the pitch making him potentially very versatile. He certainly deserved his MOTM tonight.
