I wonder what his next plan might be?
He is probably wondering the exact same thing.

If to live within our means, means mid table mediocrity - so be it. Having seen Eastleigh struggle in the lower half of the Wessex league in the 1990's, you won't get me sniffing at national league football. Personally if we don't have the cash to push on, I for one, don't want to hear a load of BS about how we are going to do this that or the other. Lets just keep quiet and let the football do the talking.

The trouble is SD gave us a false expectation. He raised the bar with what we could hope for, under his stewardship. He almost guaranteed that we would become a football league club, and then would be able to move onto league 1 and even the championship was not beyond us. Well there is no harm in having aims ambitions and dreams, but Stewart is no longer with us, and possibly will never come back. So we don't have a super rich multi millionaire throwing the cash whenever he fancies; no we have an honest bunch of people behind the scenes quietly going about their business.
For a club of our size it seems to me mid table National league is about right. As I have said before I have no idea what our budget is, but I do have a good idea that the people running the club, are Eastleigh supporters, hard working bright men and women, and they will absolutely do their best for our club. Sure it would be good to have more money and if anyone reading this has some money or knows someone who does, that can help the club financially then Kenny will be overjoyed to hear from them. We won't spend money we don't have, and if that means PM, MY or anyone else can go elsewhere and earn more money, then good luck to them, we will need to find replacement players who can do a job that we can afford. In the meantime lets make a REAL go at the cups, this will raise profile, attendances and cash.

What has the month of the year got to do with it?
Being disillusioned with the on goings at the club is not confined to the playing season.
There should be speculation as to how we are going to strengthen last seasons successful team, but what have we got? Who's next? Cut budgets, when we have already had natural cuts by discarding the expensive likes of Constable and Cresswell. Just how much is the budget being cut by?
This is no longer a progressive club, we are supposed to be secure, with strong income streams, well financed and well sponsored. Yeh right! either Stewart was bullshi77ing or management is not making a very good job of it.
In my opinion , the club has been put on ice for the "if" or "when" Stewart decides to return. These puppets running the club don't have the moola to take the club forward, they are just there to ensure it survives and marks time.
Before anyone jumps on their high horse, I am not one who normally criticises our club but the obvious lack of drive and ambition is depressing. Maybe I am wrong, maybe season tickets sales are going to hit record levels, any bets?
Sounds like a rerun of this forum at this time last year. Everything has turned to rubbish, the people running the club have no idea what they are doing. Now SD has stopped funding the club there is only one direction the club is going to go in. Season tickets sales, and attendances will fall off a cliff. A guaranteed relegation battle awaits and we probably won't survive it. All downhill from here. Enjoy the ride!

was that meant as a good thing, or a bad thing?
Categorically bad. He wasted a shed load of money.

Solihull? Colden Common? Glasgow Celtic? With Stewart you just never know.

Come July, loads of good players will still be available and looking for a club, they will also be cheaper. In an ideal world the whole squad will be done and dusted by mid June, but given we have limited budget, that means we need to be prudent and sensible. We have to trust those running our club. After all SD was famous for signing players the day before yesterday, and look where that got us!

Lets just say were having a 1500 seated stand built. And have had 3 temporary stands put up. Until phase 3 starts
You'll be in the Premiership quicker than you can say Harry Redknapp!

There's a lot of guessing going on here. Truth is we don't know what he was earning at EFC and we don't know what he will be earning at Solihull. We have to trust the board to do what is best for EFC. If we can't afford the demands of PM or anybody else, let them go. The club has been around for 73 years. Lets ensure we are here for another 73 years.

I don't think you have to be an Einstein to work out there has to be a bit more to this story than is meeting the eye. Sunderland is a massive club, a world wide name, with a fantastic support base. It has obviously got a Premiership future, its just a case of when, not if, and yet SD, who as far as I know has never until now, had any link with the club can buy so much of the club, for so little. Am I the only one wondering what's happened to the other jigsaw pieces?

I didn't know what our budget was last year and i don't know what it is this year. However I'm pretty sure it will be competitive and it is unlikely to be one of the bottom 6. We need to make sure we don't go down the road of talking down the club, and suggesting we are going to implode and all of a sudden start to struggle. I remember all those posts from last year suggesting we were going to struggle to stay up and some saying we would for sure be going down. I didn't buy it last year and I wouldn't buy it this. We are still a good size club for this level, with a decent ground, a good fan base, with potential to grow. We have some very good people at and around the club, and I see no reason why we shouldn't be at least a mid table side in the coming season.
Not the first time I've said it, but what we need more than anything is a really decent cup run, if we could make it to the 3rd or 4th round of the FA cup and the later stages of the trophy it would be massive for this club. I hope this season we prioritise these games, they could make or break the season.
