It seems there is a major funding issue at the club at present.
What, on the basis of PM looking to sign for someone else?

If Williamson is our main striker next year, we are going to struggle. There is no way on earth he will score the 20+ goals we need. I would love to be proven wrong, but I just can't see it.

If that is true I would be very surprised.

I assume those retained is being referred to here. I suspect some of them at least, will wait to see what other offers come in. For at least a few of our players, you can be sure there will be much interest.

Given the money the owners of Salford and Fylde have, is it too much to expect that they could have put in the funds to ensure everyone who wanted to go could go. Imagine if SD had still been at EFC and we had been playing at Wembley, no one would have missed out through shortage of funds and rightly so. Were I a supporter of either of the finalists I would have been asking some very awkward questions.

Zeb has been great; one big problem - he doesn't score goals. Important for a striker. As sure as I can be PM will not be with us, which means signing 2 guys who can score 35 goals between them...easier said than done. We also need cover for Reda if/when he is injured. Story of the last couple of months - solid when Reda plays, all over the place when he doesn't. That has to change. As for the manager, I think we need to end long term contracts for virtually everybody and that includes the manager. It should be a 1 year rolling contract.

A shocking attendance. Really no neutrals that would have been interested in going? The Vase final normally get more than that. I reckon had we been in the final attendance would have been at least 20,000. Given the money that is in the game, they should have made the tickets very cheap, or even given them away free rather than have an attendance like that. Not much of an advert for the The National League and it weakens the case for 3 up to the football league.
This shocking attendance should alert the authorities that something is wrong. They need to discuss what it is and then fix it.

If they fail to go up, he might well decide the hassle just wasn't worth it. Another season in league 1, especially if they have an iffy start will soon see the fan base turn. On the other hand if they go up, the revenue won't go up much, but the wage bill + new signings will rocket. Stewart is a rich man, but is he that rich?? My hunch is that he will not start next season with Sunderland - doesn't mean he will come back to Eastleigh - but he might. Imagine if he does, imagine if he significantly boosts the budget, and then imagine we don't make the play offs - just Imagining. Its late - its allowed...

PS If we are going to be really silly, would somebody like to argue that Man Utd and Liverpool don't have a clear bias when they are playing, especially at home? I'd love to hear someone argue that one!

Whether its 60, 58 or 53%, fact is its an advantage. And the fact that it is perceived to be an advantage, means there is likely to be a psychological aspect to it too. I just cannot see how anyone can dispute that Salford had a clear advantage in taking the first kick and in front of their supporters. I know that people do like arguing black is white, and here is an example of just that.
Makes no difference, facts are facts. Can anybody really imagine a scenario whereby Eastleigh could have had first kick at the away end? No me neither.

Given the season that Salford, overall, have had, I think no-one can begrudge them the second promotion place. Our goal next season is to try and get more points than we did this. Do that and once again, we will have a chance.

Yes I agree. I thought all 5 of our penalties were pretty decent and on another day all 5 could well have gone in. Anyone who has the bottle to take a penalty in those circumstances will certainly never be criticised by me.
Incidentally stats also show that teams playing the home leg second do better than the those playing the home leg first. You just have to follow the stats.

Statistics show that 60% of penalty shoot outs are won by the team kicking first. These stats can be ascertained by Googling the question. It is obviously an advantage to kick towards your own fans, so what happened to Eastleigh at Salford was blatantly unfair. Any captain that chooses to kick second is either unaware of the statistics (and he shouldn't be!), or an idiot.

Its impossible to say. It depends who is available to talk and when. Also some players may well want to wait for offers before committing. You just have to trust the people in charge to do their job. You can be fairly confident they will do.

You can argue it doesn't matter now, and you can argue black is blue; but FACT - for us to be kicking at the Salford end and second is UNFAIR AND WRONG. The rules that allow this need changing.
