Not a case of changing colours or teams, I support saints as have done as a small child going Back over 30 years, it's more a case of also supporting Spitfires. I think that is fair to say amongst a lot of newer fans, the problem is the amount of money it costs now and the influx of foreigners in the leagues , i for one love being able to watch a good (well sometimes) old fashioned match for a decent price, in a now decent ground, I can leave my home around 40mins from kick off and still park and if I wish grab a pint all before kick off. It's a friendly environment and my kids love a day at the silverlake. Value for money is excellent. Nothing wrong with with adding a second local team for me to support. Just a shame the kit colour is blue 😱, I can just about live with that though 👍 Good post and no doubt there are many like you. I like the blue kit though! Talking of kit I was suprised to see the kit not discounted at the end of the season. Does anyone know anything about next year's shirt? Will it still be made by Macron? Not sure if he'll have enough time, what with being in charge of France at the moment ;-)

Trouble is my other team play in red and white and, down here, everyone assumes it's a Southampton shirt 😂 (And have the same initials as our old Eastleigh 'rejects' club! Although I'd never refer to Jamie Slabber as a reject!!)

I have been a Liverpool fan since 6 years old, so imagine also supporting a team who play in blue and whose initials are EFC (Everton). I can put that to one side though, even though the shirt I purchased was of course the away white version
I`ve been a Everton fan for 48 years. I`ve previously been a season ticket holder with my boy`s at Everton, and Everton will always be my first club. When I started kicking a ball about when I was four in down town Bishopstoke Rec, I`d wanted to play for Everton, and I haven`t even heard of Swaythling Athletic. Swaythling Athletic only came on my radar in 1977, watching with my father a one all draw against Bath City in the F A Vase at a very different looking Ten Acres. Nowadays at 52 I watch Everton half a dozen times a season, and I fill the rest of the season watching Eastleigh FC up and down country. This tick`s both boxes for me for my Football fix. However I did avoid going to the away games at Tranmere ( Everton at home to Tottenham )and Sutton ( Everton away at Crystal Palace) , for fear of being hijacked by either group of mates. Therefore I have no issue`s about people supporting two clubs. As for buying club shirts, I'm glad Eastleigh play in Blue and White. I would and never buy a Red shirt. Better of Dead than Red !!!!!!.

Mayb blue shirts with white sleeves, that's a bit dif for next season, we had that a few years ago, always smart. I may even buy a shirt, obviously couldn't be a blue home top a bit like some others on here but possibly an away shirt, yellow for that then no need for a third kit as a lot of prem clubs fleece the fans for! Ha all good fun, anyone else got any preferences??😆

As many know my other team are QPR, luckily for me, both play in blue and white, so that works well for me. Not sure if anyone else has a problem with me also following QPR, have done so since 1967, and will continue doing so until I die. If you do have a problem - well that's your problem, not mine!

What I still can't understand is why. A lifelong long oxford fan, can't buy them tips up and buys Eastleigh. Great for Eastleigh but I just can't get it. You can change your wife, you can never change your football team.
That is what someone said about Stewart Donald
I moved from one end of country to the other over the last 60 years and have supported a myriad of what were "my local teams". My passion for each has never been less than 100% I can count Malden Town as my first club (Surrey Senior League) in the 1950s, then Wimbledon (1960s) at Plough Lane in the Isthmian League, Workington and Barrow in the 1970s, Luton Town through the late 1970s and 1980s, Aldershot Town FC and Kings Langley FC in the 1990s and now Eastleigh for the last 10+ seasons. I don't get this "my club for life", when you haven't seen them for 20 years or more.

During the close season as I understand it, work will be done to extend that stand or add somenting either side independently to it so to give that side better viewing areas. The clubhouse end roof is going on soon , not sure it it's a roof as in on top of the new facility or a slightly lower one than that is there at the moment over the shed end. The terrace side is the one that the club have major plans for as has been said in the interview. Along with that the talk was if changing the green seats in the mackoy and putting catering underneath and raising the scoreboard so lots and lots to look forward to. so we know now how the configuration of the new stand will work, had to chuckle when Stewart said the blue stand has been built too close to pitch, can see what he means though but the changing rooms are housed there so can't really change the rake of the seats so the plan is a similar design as now but down to the corner with terrace under, should be a nice stand and am looking forward to watching from there. The roof still to go on at clubhouse end by which time it will be a great little ground! 👍⚽️

Sorry to dig this one up again! Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the new stand will look like? Or has work started? Any pics? I can't find planning permission on the Eastleigh council website so I'm guessing that planning hasn't gone in yet? In which case, will it be ready before the season starts?

All the talk was of it being ready for kick off of the season and I think the friendlies, I am no engineer but I don't think it's a massive project as it isn't a huge stand to erect, again we don't know the exact design we do know it's seats with a terrace below, am assuming it will just butt up to the existing blue stand and go to near the corner flag. Obviously lots going through the planning process so I would imagine the roof on the clubhouse end would have been done if not waiting on planning. The replacement of the green seats to blue is another topic that Stewart wants to get done as he mentioned a while back with the Mackoy having refreshment facilities underneath so I wouldn't be suprised to see a lot of activity once planning has been approved. If all does go to plan then a much changed Silverlake will be on show come the new season.

Not to forget a new roof on the shed end!
I think we will have various improvements going on during the season as well.
