Not sure if this can be answered here, but I heard a rumour that those with season tickets in the main blue stand will have to move to the new seated stand that is going to be built, so that those in hospitality can then be seated in the current main stand for the game. Can anyone shed any light on this? I just spoke to the club as soon as I read this. I am told that if you have already renewed your main stand season ticket then that seat is yours for the 2017/18 season and you will not be moved for that season. Also there is still a bit of time till the deadline for existing season ticket holders to renew to keep their 2016/17 seat for next season. So it seems crazyhorse that the rumour you have heard is a misleading one. Where did it come from?

I have two cracking season tickets almost on the halfway line, and I would be very disappointed if I lost these. I have already renewed mine and am therefore certain next season I have these seats. I believe the person who told me was thinking more of the 2018/19 season. Did the club confirm if this is never to be the plan?

I've also heard the odd rumour, and have also been told by the club that existing S/T ticket holders in the blue stand will not be moved next season. So - no problem.
Obviously I understand why we are doing it, but as the club builds more 'corporate' facilities, it will be interesting to see how they integrate the 'non-corporate' customers.
As ever, I'll take it season by season, and see what the overall offer is - seat location, facilities, entertaining football, successful team, enjoyable experience (personally I only go for the football and the craic, and I currently have a great view)..... but as we've seen on this forum, many people have many different priorities.

I'd heard the new seats are going to be pink to match the prawn sandwiches being served.
Not sure why you lot are worried about being moved, first they took our roof, then they took our supports and PA system, pretty sure they are going to replace The Shed with tanks that are used to farm the Prawns for the new facility, or maybe giant Lobster tanks so the monied can point out their victim and shout "want that one!!"

I did overhear a conversation that went along the lines of "To honour one of the forums most respected contributors, this is the new proposed mascot"

Whilst I understand the club's corporate priorities this would have to be handled very carefully. If done well, perhaps by offering an incentive or thank you for moving e.g. a voucher for the club shop then I'd go along with it. If done poorly then I may not bother to renew a season ticket at all. Personally I only think this would all happen if the club gets promoted to the football league.

Looking at 2018/19 from the perspective of currently having my name on my main stand seat, I do realise that there might need to be an adjustment if we are still a viable force football wise at the end of next season. If the club decided my superb seat would need to become part of a hospitality package I might very well take that package and cough up the extra dosh - though my missus might not be happy with me having a trough to feed from when my waistline is already a major challenge.

I'm assuming this new stand will be situated where I've stood with a group of regulars for 5 or 6 seasons. I would hope we, and all other suporters will be given the option to upgrade our season tickets once it is complete. I certainly would want to test the view from it and the intentions of others in our group before making that decision.

My immediate thought was that's where we stand too. However, I did wonder whether there might be some standing in front of whatever is built. To get the same height as the 'old' main stand - and to utilise the space underneath it might be a raised stand with some standing in front. If we can't stand there will probably go to the opposite side to stand. Will miss the close ups of RH's friendly chats with officials though.

From echo article:
"And the Spitfires are already seeking planning permission for their next ground project – an extension between the Silverlake’s blue and green stands, providing seating and terracing for around 800 people, hopefully in time for next season."
I think you are right spitfiresteve. The seated stands with terracing at the front are quite old fashioned I think - but I like the sound of it!
Be an incredible achievement if we could get this done for the start of the season.

Jill and I concur with Steve and Martin. We have stood in that part of the ground (standing near the home dugout) for the best past of the last decade. Happy to see seating go in there AS LONG AS THERE IS SOME TERRACING for us - the Eastleigh equivalent of Woking's Moaners Corner.

I take exception to the comparison of us with any section at Woking, Tony😎. Shirley you must agree we're not moaners. From many remarks on this forum, the moaners are in other parts of the ground, not in our small enclave.
One thought I have is that time is rather tight to have a new stand open by the start of the season. We've not even seen or heard of any plans yet, & there's always the hurdle of planning, although, I think SD has said it may not be needed. Maybe Xmas or early next year is a more realistic timescale for its completion.

I may be completely wrong here but my understanding was that the new stand will incorporate seated and terraced areas, with a wheelchair accessible viewing area.

Sounds as though it could be terracing with seats above so I think that would be a great idea and a good noisy area. If echo says 800 places inc standing and seats then obviously they get everything spot on don't they!!!!!!!!!! 500 extra seats were needed so if 800 spaces are available then it would fit that there is standing, am sure a Mock up of it will be shown asap. With all this new space we must make sure it's filled or as busy as possible or it will be just more quiet areas . I think it will be a quite intimidating ground when all done. Once the terracing and roof are done at the new end then am assuming spitfire grill , programme sellers etc will be moved to the other side of the now extended blue stand to balance that side out so there shouldn't be much gaps all down that side. Also maybe it's just me but I love the terrace side (east) as home and away you can make use of the ecoustics and it has charm of a proper footy ground for those who grew up on the terraces. The plans for possible replacement, hotel etc will be years down the live and amazing if come off but I think first game if the season it will be a great great place to watch a match.
