When does work on the new seated stand get underway? Where the grandstand currently is?

During the close season as I understand it, work will be done to extend that stand or add somenting either side independently to it so to give that side better viewing areas. The clubhouse end roof is going on soon , not sure it it's a roof as in on top of the new facility or a slightly lower one than that is there at the moment over the shed end. The terrace side is the one that the club have major plans for as has been said in the interview. Along with that the talk was if changing the green seats in the mackoy and putting catering underneath and raising the scoreboard so lots and lots to look forward to.

"The terrace side is the one that the club have major plans for as has been said in the interview"
SD has said on several occasions that he wants to replace the "Exeter Terrace" with a stand the whole length of the ground on that side. However whilst the Council has made encouraging noises, the issue of planning permission is likely to be less than straightforward. Any development of that size would increase the ground capacity and would raise issues about how we get people in and out of the ground. Vehicle access from the Link Road outside the ground is problematic given the proximity of the Motorway junction.
I'm sure we will succeed in expanding the capacity and facilities of the ground but don't expect it to happen too soon.

Shouldn't we be filling the ground FIRST before making capacity bigger? Seems like madness to me!

Not really bomber.
It takes a long time to get from planning to actually having the finished article of something like a 3000(?) seater grandstand. Realistically I'd guess its something like 3 years away. To delay it after a bad season/half season would be very short termist. I am sure our ground improvements will be delayed enough by the council/bureaucracy/general logistics without us voluntarily delaying it further!
Its long term planning for the future these ground improvements. Since bridle came in our plan has always been to get into the football league. Of course we don't know if/when that will happen. That still needs work on and off the pitch to achieve it.

Shouldn't we be filling the ground FIRST before making capacity bigger? Seems like madness to me! Things is the current stand on the Halfway line is sold out and a number of fans want seats on the side so alas whilst the capacity is fine the viewing for some is not, which I understand as lots of people like sitting on the side and 352 seats is looking like it is not enough for next season. Also under league rules we have to keep the directors close to that stand and so unless we want to have temporary buildings that are not really fit for purpose they need replacing with a proper facility underneath the stand along with St JOhn's, physio etc and there just isn't the room without temporary cabins so a little stand extension down to the floodlight should be adequate. When I bought the club I didn't realise how much groundworks needed doing to give us the proper permanent facilities at this level - the capacity is fine with a 2500 hopeful average crowd next year but i would like to try and improve the experience Bomber if we can. Sometimes Eastleigh Fc does feel like madness !!

Sounds like that side of the ground will be aesthetically pleasing when done, can't wait for Donald Towers Hotel on the other! 😂🎲

Why are we replacing the east stand terrace? Surely it would make sense to replace the blue stand with the grandstand as then all four sides of the ground would look ok, whilst retaining a good balance of standing and seating.

That is a long term plan - we will do west side first.

That is a long term plan - we will do west side first. Stewart, sorry to be dense, but the next plan is to extend to the side(s) of the main blue stand on the west side, or replace it with a bigger one? I ask as I have my season tickets in the main stand!

No doubt Stewart will answer when he sees your post crazyhorse but my impression from his comment above re the next west side phase, viz ".....so a little stand extension down to the floodlight should be adequate" is that the existing main stand seating will remain as is and additional seating will be provided with a new stand to one side of it. I notice he refers to the scale of groundworks required for ground improvements and I recall that it seemed when the McCoy stand was built that the majority of the time required for its completion was taken up by work below ground level.

For bomber
1. It looks like there'll be a new stand next to the main stand. 2. They'll have to dig a really big hole first and fill it with lots of rubble and concrete and stuff.
