Ok, here we go again. I know not all of our teenage supporters are brain dead pondlife, that think they can take on the world and that they're untouchable, but after seeing the post below on the Facebook Page, I really think it's time something was done about their mentality, and idea (a bit harsh I now), how about them holding a competition to see who can keep hold of a Pyro the longest.............

They'll set one off near the wrong people before long.

Probably posted to wind some of us up. No doubt the SU stewards have been warned. Wonder if EFC can compile a list of those who post such rubbish with a view to metaphorically "sending the boys 'round"?

The guy that posted it has a spectacularly stupid profile pic. Meant to look menacing but looks like he can't dress himself properly from his nan's dressing up box.

Seriously? This was obviously posted to provoke a reaction. If you ignore them they will stop doing it, if they know they can wind you up they will keep doing it. Just ignore and move on to the next post or alternatively post something to start a discussion that people will contribute to. Publicity will fan the flames... P.s. that doesn't mean i want you to delete this

This from a specialist defence lawyer - " The starting point for a court considering the sentence for someone who has attempted to enter a stadium with pyro is three months in prison. In many cases it is very difficult to persuade the courts to come down from this three month figure. Add onto this the fact that i t is highly likely that a court will impose a football banning order for at least three years (as this is the minimum that a court can impose) and may go as high as 10 years, and a fan’s days of watching football anywhere but in their living room for at least the next three years are over. The prison record doesn’t look good to any employer, and any chance of coaching or refereeing even a local kids league is given the red card. The offence of possession of the smoke grenade and the prison sentence and the football banning order will all appear on a Criminal Records Bureau (now Banning and Disbarring Service) check. A fan doesn’t have to let off a flare in the stadium to fall foul of the law, mere possession on entry is sufficient. The law doesn’t distinguish between smoke grenades, flares and fireworks, they are all treated with the same severity. Nor does it distinguish between possession and letting off the pyro. The situation for under 18s is even worse. Possession of a smoke grenade or flare in any public place is a criminal offence. Hence a fan who is under the age of 18 and who has a smoke bomb in their pocket as they walk through town or on the train on the way to a match is committing an offence. A 15-year-old with no previous convictions, who has never been in trouble with the police before, suddenly finds themselves arrested, in a police cell and facing a criminal record. Even a fixed penalty notice or reprimand given in the police station will appear on their CRB check. With competition for university and jobs so competitive for youths, a CRB will probably means that this youth goes to the back of the queue." - See more at: www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/no-pyro-no-party#sthash.gvag8klb.dpuf

Whilst I don't condone something that it is clearly illegal, god modern football is boring and sanitised! If it wasn't for our new young supporters Eastleigh would be a morgue in terms of atmosphere. If they are stupid enough to bring in a flare then let the stewards deal with it but there's no point shooting down teenage banter on social media or calling them brain dead pond life. The stuff kids do today is tame compared to the youth of 70s, 80s and 90s. My first under age pint was in the club house at 15 watching Thatcham Town!!

The FB post was a pretty obvious attempt at attention seeking & to antagonise people and start a thread just like this one!
The club are dealing with this issue, it was discussed quite a bit on Monday (see minutes in TSSC section). I think the reason they haven't made a public statement is they don't want to publicise/highlight it as that seems to be one of the big reasons people do pyro.
Pyro is not specifically an Eastleigh problem, it is fairly widespread in football - after Lincoln scored the winner against Ipswich there was a very large flare up in the stand.
Eastleigh FC will sort this out.

If it was myself who put that post up you would know it was a wind up,. It's like the gutter press, the more ammunition you give them the more they print. Plus we can't be responsible for every Eastleigh fan anymore cos it's grown so much now. Did Bolton have a big issue with the numpty who run on our pitch last season,no . Anyway all travelling spitfires have a magic day tomorrow, take care & sing proud & loud 💙🙏

Hate the joking around about this pyro stuff. However did want to say I thought the young lads were really good today, especially with the young Sutton lad leading the chanting. Great to see and well done lads. Now if you can just stop using the c word in front of young children...

Would second that, Steve. They were well behaved & noisy and with the 7yr old?? chanting Sutton to them & them responding Eastleigh every time, it was heartening to see. We'll done lads & I wouldn't take much notice of the negative comments about you made by a Sutton fan on another thread.

Obviously the youngsters annoy a lot of people but they are young and enjoying life. Everyone makes mistakes but maybe the best way to educate them is have a Chat with them rather than alienate them. They are the future of EFC wether you like it or not. Encourage not discourage. Personally my enjoyment comes from not drinking alcohol, swearing, throwing flares at people or having a good time. I find this behaviour discraceful. Cheers

Perhaps if some others were on the same coach as them yesterday and saw how the coach driver had to react when driving at 60+ on a busy motorway they may not be as understanding. Will the lecture at the end on endangering his life, their life's and other passengers life's fall on death ears? It really is unfair to leave him in the position to have to plead for control from his seat whilst on a motorway.
