Shame, but maybe there are other issues etc. that we're unaware of. Anyhow I for one would like to wish Hess the very best in his new challenge.
OK, so does the club now get some kind of compensation payment from Dover, and as for the situation with Josh, surely if he went then his transfer fee would be fairly good?
Anyway, let's continue to give the team our support and hope for a 5th consecutive win on Saturday.

Wonder if anyone at the club will finally get round to telling us.

Nowt on either the club's twitter feed or website, interestingly it's being reported on both the Kent Online pages and Dover's twitter feed. On the other hand, Marl Yates has been released from Macclesfield.......

Looks like he's going - shame. I think he has unfinished business here. He has links with Dover; he probably has a bigger challenge there for the moment, and their forum seems to think they will become full-time, which will make a difference. Other than that, have they got more potential than us? Hard to say, post-Donald. We should have more potential (stadium, catchment area) but are we really making the most of it? Maybe our new board couldn't give AH the promises he wanted. We probably need to find an up-and-coming manager rather than a big name, to match what we're doing (should be) doing with the squad. Not sure who would fit the bill yet. EDIT: Dover website has announced it: www.doverathletic.com/news/hess-is-back-at-crabble/

At the moment I wouldn't be surprised if we had a combination of Stevens/Flitney/possibly McAllister.
It's now on the EFC website and EFC Twitter.

Not sure why I keep seeing stuff about the “Funding” at EastleighFC, the boards pockets are very deep. We all need to stick together and keep believing. I think with all the talent we have we do not need to keep going back to “where’s the money”. Anyone who thinks the board will let AH go without a fight are naive, at the end of the day, it’s down to him if he wants to explore other opportunities. Keep believing and up the spitfires!!

www.eastleighfc.com/statement-andy-hessenthaler-departs/Eastleigh Football Club can today confirm that Manager, Andy Hessenthaler has left the club to join Dover Athletic. The club agreed for Andy to speak to Dover Athletic yesterday and following discussions between all parties, a compensation package has been agreed. Despite the best efforts of the club, the location proved to be a major factor in making his decision. Chief Executive, Kenny Amor said: “We are hugely disappointed to lose Andy. Following conversations, it seems geography has won in this case. This was not something that the club had anticipated, however we will move swiftly to appoint the right candidate to continue the good work which has already been started this season. The club still remains very ambitious to succeed this season and despite this setback we will make sure whoever takes this role is equally as ambitious.” The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy for all his efforts whilst at the club and wish him well in all his future endeavours. Ben Strevens and Ross Flitney will continue to oversee the squad in the interim period whilst a replacement is found.

have they got more potential than us? Hard to say, post-Donald. We should have more potential (stadium, catchment area) but are we really making the most of it? There's about 125,000 people living in Eastleigh & we struggle to get 1,500 at home games. Of course we're not making the most of it!

We weren't doing much better than 2000 at our peak (and then the attendance figures were inflated by counting ST holders whether they were there or not).
I don't think 1500 is too bad for a place the size of Eastleigh, until you remember the large number of ST holders on a good deal, the fact that the catchment area could include some people from Southampton, Winchester... and then I agree that it's not good at all - even our previous chairman was unable to address it properly, despite his efforts and his money.
What can we do? This question has been asked many times!

Quite simply blokes have got other things to do on a saturday nowadays, or they'd sooner sit in front of the telly streaming a premier league game from Tanzania, or watch Jeff Stelling bouncing about like a chimp on microdots.

Blimey, Bomber speaks sense, for once. That last post was a relief from the normal anti EFC/Management/Board cynicism, and pretty much hit the nail on the head.
