If he does go it will be interesting to see the reaction from the players against Aldershot who should be playing for their future irrespective of the manager(remember we still have Strevs). Also hope he doesn’t take Josh Hare with him.

" but Hessenthaler still has a lot to do to convince me he can create a promotion winning side. We'll see." Too late, according to Dover sources who state he starts with them on Monday
"There is nothing in reality the board can do. If he doesn't want to manage EFC then thanks and goodbye" - MichaelEFC -
The issue is not Hess, its the EFC board who seem to have been paralysed since SD's departure.
We are on the best run we've had since the tenure of Ronnie Moore and we seem (as of tonight) to be throwing it away. We've gone in 6 games from relegation fodder to 3 points off the play-offs. I don't think for a moment that Hess thinks Dover are a better bet than us. What will attract him to Dover, if that is where he's going, is a board which is prepared to back him with a level of funding to give him a sporting chance of the play-offs.
Totally agree with your comments about the board. Is there a real strategic plan for the club? Is there any ambition? Over to you Mr Jewell.

Martin Allen likely to be available soon, comes with a top notch left back with amazing long throw.

Over to you Mr Jewell.
Alas due to health issues, Mark is unable to play much of an active role currently.

IF the news is true, a statement should be forthcoming this evening. I stress the word IF - it could be "fake news"! Hardly fake news, Michael. It's directly from Ian Wilding whom, I would think, we would all consider to be a trustworthy journalist.

Hessenthaler post match interview at 3.40 in: www.bbc.co.uk/radio/play/p06n5903doesn't mention anything about Dover in his interview but, AH/Dover situation is mentioned later in the program (24.20). This would have aired about 6pm.

Yes nobadspitfire you are correct it is clearly a genuine story. My comment was partly tongue in cheek and 70 minutes ago I was unaware that Ian Wilding was reporting the story. So if it is happening, if AH is off to Dover then, with all due respect to AH I don't really give a stuff about his future career, but I do care about what happens to our club. I can see no reason why off the back of 4 wins on the bounce, we can't continue to win football games, can't get a manager at least as proficient as AH, and why we can't provide the new man with a competitive budget. AH total record whilst involved with EFC was modest at best. So I won't be joining the doom mongers. I forecast 9th at the seasons start and I still think that is perfectly attainable and with a good cup run or two, this will be shaping up to be a good season.

My own opinion is: its a bit of strange one, but we really don't know quite whats gone on.
Looking at the table - you'd think why would Hess want to go to Dover, but of course he does have a past association with them over a number of years and live near to Dover so that may make a difference.
Of course we don't know whether or not Hess does want to go. In isolation it seems a little odd that we have given Dover permission to talk to Hess, but as said above we don't know the story of course.
He may have had no thoughts above leaving Eastleigh, but given Eastleigh are willing for him to talk to another club, he might think, why not and could even question EFCs commitment to him. It could be that Dover have tapped him out/sounded him out which has preceded their contact with Eastleigh to ask for Permission to speak with Hess as they may be confident of getting their man. Its also possible they have fired out a number of requests to speak to people and seen who they could talk to and make a short list from.
Anyway I hope he stays with us. Am sure we will know a lot more in the next day or two

Bomber, words fail me. Hess has taken half a side and turned them into promotion prospects. Second in the NL form league over the last 6 matches, and you want to wave him goodbye??? The board needs to back him now with cash or this club will be going down the pan. Yeah he's taken Eastleigh and turned them into promotion prospects who are second in the forms league. He's done that under his own steam and things are..For now..looking rosy. In fact he thinks so much of his achievements and the loyal bunch who turn up every week he wants to talk to ****ty Dover. Shows how much he thinks of Eastleigh!

I won't hold my breath waiting for a statement from the Chairman or the Board. Nor me. The useless berks haven't even got the passion to get our website sorted out.
