Ian Wilding has tweeted that Eastleigh have given permission for AH to speak to Dover Athletic who want him as Manager following the sacking of Chris Kinnear yesterday.
Let's hope he decides to stay with us. He's now on a contract with us, so if he goes, Dover would be due to pay us compensation. Arguably, we are a bigger club than Dover, but it is closer to his home.

Gutted to see this!! He’s a quality manager, be a real shame to lose him. I thought if he’d leave he’d go to a football league club. Closer to his home and also an ex player-manager for Dover so has some roots there. I’d be super gutted if the board at Eastleigh didn’t do everything they possibly can to keep him. Players are clearing putting in a shift for Hess, such a waste if he left

There's possibly an issue for AH in terms of the apparent lack of funding for players at EFC since SD left the club. Time for our Directors to dig deep into their pockets?

But is there any more money available at FC Douvres, Tony? Historically not, unless someone with money has recently joined the club. Anyway, it's only for talks. We'll just have to wait & see what happens.

We are miles above Dover, bigger crowds, better potential. Why would he go there? Bad move on his part

Don’t see why we would give Dover permission. Just say no. Poor From eastleigh fc directors

He shouldn't even want to talk to Dover in my view. Not if he's committed to Eastleigh.
Bye.

4 games ago not many would have cared if AH had stayed or gone. If he wants to talk to Dover, then clearly he is not very committed to us; why would we want someone managing the club who isn't committed, why are players going to play for him? If they want him, make them pay a price and then get someone in who wants to manage us. We are a decent size club, with a good fan base, a reasonable budget and are a far "bigger" club than Dover will ever be. If we have to choose a new manager, we need to be decisive and quick. No reason at all, why with or without AH, we can't carry on this run.
Onwards and upwards.

Bomber, words fail me. Hess has taken half a side and turned them into promotion prospects. Second in the NL form league over the last 6 matches, and you want to wave him goodbye??? The board needs to back him now with cash or this club will be going down the pan.

Don’t see why we would give Dover permission. Just say no. Poor From eastleigh fc directors The board have no real money or real experience for that matter. However, I am sure most managers have a release clause written in to their contract so if that's been met there is not much the board can do. I am philosophical to be honest. Yes, the team are on a decent run but Hessenthaler still has a lot to do to convince me he can create a promotion winning side. We'll see.

There is nothing in reality the board can do. If he doesn't want to manage EFC then thanks and goodbye - its as simple as that. It doesn't matter how good he is, if he is not in the club, heart and soul then he has to go. The manager sets the tone for the whole club. Ideally he would see the year out and then do whatever he wants come the summer - but we all know managers, players, owners there is very little loyalty in football and if he wants to go - GO!

" but Hessenthaler still has a lot to do to convince me he can create a promotion winning side. We'll see." Too late, according to Dover sources who state he starts with them on Monday

The issue is not Hess, its the EFC board who seem to have been paralysed since SD's departure.
We are on the best run we've had since the tenure of Ronnie Moore and we seem (as of tonight) to be throwing it away. We've gone in 6 games from relegation fodder to 3 points off the play-offs. I don't think for a moment that Hess thinks Dover are a better bet than us. What will attract him to Dover, if that is where he's going, is a board which is prepared to back him with a level of funding to give him a sporting chance of the play-offs.

Remember back to SD days. AH didn't need a contract because he was a man of his word - Yeah right! Now we need to get the players together, get an interim guy (or two) in charge for the next 7 days, invite applications and lets make a decision within a fortnight - tops.

I won't hold my breath waiting for a statement from the Chairman or the Board.

IF the news is true, a statement should be forthcoming this evening. I stress the word IF - it could be "fake news"!
