You know how it works Keith. If we win the first two games, everybody will be thinking, great no problems who needed SD anyway. Lose the first two, we are doomed, we are going bankrupt, will we even have a club at Christmas. That's the way it has been now for decades. You are worrying about stuff you don't need to be worrying about. Sure what you say is all true, we could slip down the leagues quickly, its also true that had SD stayed he could have sold the club to some investment company and they could have bankrupted the club. With football there are so many ifs and maybes. At this point all we can do is wish the new owners well, support the club in whichever way we can, and await their statement when it comes. Come the new season, we take it a game at a time and see where it takes us. There is no certainties in football, and indeed there are no certainties in life except death and taxes. So stop worrying and await the statement. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again, BE PATIENT.

All very true, Michael, except I don't think for one minute Keith is worried about the club. Seems to me he's more concerned about less money being splashed out generally and in many cases, depending on one's opinion, being wasted. He's also taken on, maybe briefly, the mantle of doom monger or possibly even, troll. Maybe we just need to ignore him & he'll go away? Or can his comments on here be cut & pasted to the other forum where there'll be more in agreement with him. The again, given time he'll come back with more positive things to say about the club as he's contributed in the past.

Fair comments Martin, I see where you’re coming from. I am not a doom monger though, just concerned at the big picture and how it might pan out. I’m not bothered about trolls going at me, they too have an opinion, they are entitled to voice it....as you are Martin...but don’t take me for a fool.

What can happen in a small club like ours, though, Keith, is that some people will latch on to what you are saying & it's possible that what you peddle becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. If everyone on here talked similarly to you the club could get to a poor situation.
We all know we now don't have the resources of the recent past, but we are where we are and with good proper management we can be successful again. I don't see the point in being negative & gloomy about the future. Let's just go with the flow, support the club in any way we can and look forward to the next chapter in EFC's history.

Peddle a self fulfilling prophecy? Come on Martin I’m not the only one by a long chalk but I speak my own opinion, it’s up to others to step forward. This club needed another wealthy owner to continue the rise and SD knew enough people in that respect but he declined to do so - WHY? Being brave on my own here...a fall back if Sunderland goes wrong? Is that why he sold to the board instead? He’s sold the club for a £1..but does he still own the ground and surrounding land? SD is a mate, but a businessman first and foremost.

Just came back from holiday Keith and I can see that there is still no public apology for the defamatory lies which you posted about Paul Mc and myself. I will be contacting you further in that regard but in the meantime I can't see how anyone can possibly take anything you say seriously on any subject. Through your personal attack on two people who have voluntarily done quite a lot for the club with, honestly, little recognition, you have destroyed any credibility you might have had .

Stewart Donald had to part from EFC to purchase Sunderland thats the rules. Maybe ? he is keeping his options open ? and why not! , our club has developed beyond belief due to him, and i for one am happy with inner circles purchasing the club rather than some foreign investor that can only see us as a bit of real estate to exploit , i am probably wrong in my opinion but that is how i see it, and i reckon others feel the same.

Go ask Paul, he PM'd me on behalf of you both, I deleted the original thread and confirmed to the club I had done so and apologised. The matter was forgotten and closed but you've dragged it all up again, not a wise decision I must say.
That's my last words on the subject...it's finished, everybody has moved on.

I’m sure on one of SD Solent interviews he mentioned he’s putting into Eastleigh an amount of money which covers each and every remaining contract at the club. I may have misheard that but I’m pretty sure I didn’t. Which basically means that this season, and many next year, the playing squad is FREE!! I guess other than any bonuses their weekly wage is paid for until their contracts expire. I think that is a grand thing to do by SD.
So looking at this season what do the new owners do? If we have our original budget effectively using £0 so far do we go and spend it and have a real go at going up this year? Or do they look financially and sensibly at what the club could do with the extra money over the next few seasons? Eg improve facilities further, more parking for the parking business, extend the blue stand, extend the hospitality facilities, etc etc. Would love to know the answers and hear what the future plans are.
I genuinely think that the national league is Eastleigh’s oyster if what has been said, financially, in the past is true. With the right people recruiting players (RH & AH), I think this season could be a fantastic one, especially if what’s mentioned above is true about finances.
It’s a shame football mainly comes down to finances these days!! Also, if we do get into League 2 the new housing estate close by is bound to attract new fans and an increase in attendance.
It could well be a very exciting time for the club in the next 2-3 years. I get the feeling Mr Donald may regret jumping ship one day!

I know Paul has been in touch with you on his own behalf and he has received a pm from you. That is between you and Paul. As far as I am concerned you posted defamatory lies about me on this public forum which were read by probably a hundred or more people. many of whom know me personally and most of whom know who I am. The matter is certainly not "finished".

Back4more/spiritof eastleigh--Can I please ask that no further posts about this are put on here irrespective of who started it.Its nothing to do with the subject heading. I'm sure you can come to an adult resolution without airing your arguments on here.I'm one of those 100 and in a round about way soe has publicly apologised on here. I don't know if I know either of you--but I have read so many insults on here regarding people that the one against you b4m I really didn't take seriously. Thankyou

"Also, if we do get into League 2 the new housing estate close by is bound to attract new fans and an increase in attendance".
If the example of most new developments near football clubs is followed that's unlikely. If you buy the NLP on a Sunday hardly a week goes by without an item about clubs struggling with a string of complaints from the new residents about noise, parking problems, traffic congestion even light pollution from the floodlights.
The argument that they bought a house by an existing sports facility cuts no ice with Councils and courts. Most spectacular recent cases are when houses are purchased or built next to motor sport tracks. The new occupants then seek injunctions to restrict or end the "noisy activities". This has even happened at tracks that have been in use since the 1940s and 50s. Brands Hatch (opened 1946), Mallory Park (1955), Crystal Palace (1937), Thruxton (1952). Noise limits have been imposed, the number of days of permitted activity cut, Sunday racing banned.
I fear that these new houses will prove to be a curse, beyond the problems over drainage.
