At least they are preparing themselves now. If the pitch fails inspection Thursday, we are in big trouble.

Does anyone know what the contingency plan would be? Reversing the fixture?

Does anyone know what the contingency plan would be? Reversing the fixture? jumpers for goalposts on the mini-pitches behind the Mackoy Stand? ;-)

"Does anyone know what the contingency plan would be? Reversing the fixture?"
This from Hereford's Bulls News - "BN understands that Eastleigh have a 'plan B' (to play at another ground) should their pitch fail an inspection on Thursday morning in advance of their FA Cup game against Hereford.
Whilst that un-named ground is said to be up to National League standards, it doesn't have as much seated area than that at Eastleigh."
Other Hereford sources on line have identified the ground as Westleigh Park.

I made a joke about it, but logically it would work. Neverwillville are away on Sat so on the face of it, the ground isn't being used & appears to be up to NL standard.
The other contingency is shortening our pitch. I don't know how long our pitch is, but say it's 120yds long, minimum pitch length is 100yds,(max 130yds) so we could re-mark it & shorten it to 100/105 yds. That's the thing, anyone know how long our full size pitch is??

I was at Westleigh Park on Monday night for the Pompey v Everton U23 Cup game. Their playing surface is superb. The ground is excellent as well. It's hard to imagine them getting the claimed 5000 plus capacity into the ground but it should easily accommodate the likely attendance for this cup tie if needed. I wouldn't like to be the one to have to organise stewarding, policing and catering in two days if that's what it comes to.

I'd say it holds 3000-3500 reasonably.
I have been in crowds that size there a few times, previously well-organised, but the last one I went to was v Bognor last season, when there were large queues at the entrance at 3pm and the kick-off time had to be put back.
Not sure their hospitality would be comparable with ours :-)
Salisbury are the other club who are being mooted as an alternative. Personally I'd have thought Havant would be the better option, ignoring the 'rivalry' aspect.
Ironic if we used Havant's ground, because the pitch there has been crap for years. Good to hear it's been improved and was nice on a dry evening in September, anyway.
