looks like the next few years will see lots of improvements with the ground, can't wait to see it get better. Its not too bad at the moment.
would be great to see a stadium truly ready for the football league, team as well of course

would love to see a big terrace behind each goal and all seater stands along the sides, i reckon it might take a while to get all that lot done though

Taken down. It was never a long term option, and I suspected at the time that it would be the case as it isn't exactly made from concrete and that is it. Was built to Dona job over five or so years and it's done exactly that. Probably wasn't overly complex to design not that expensive. But it was built in the first year of conference prem when a straight promotion to league 2 was certainly a possibility with the form we had, so we needed a quick solution if that were to happen and didn't only have a 300 seater stand.

I would be surprised if it would be taken down as it can surely be linked in the corner of the extended blue stand, that would make more sense. If it is proposed to be terrace then again the shell is there. The only reason to knock it down is surely to keep the stands all the same height. If the blue stand can be extended towards the clubhouse end then that side would be great and possibly a mirror image on the terraced side. Would be a cosy and classy stadium.

It’s definitely going to be exciting watching this ground changing over the next few seasons, seeing more and more people coming and the club getting into the football league. The future is certainly bright for Eastleigh Football Club!!

If the plan is to build a permanent terraced stand at the motorway end, rather than lose the capacity it provides, could the Mackoy stand not be moved to the east side of the pitch as a temporary replacement for the east terrace until that side is fully redeveloped?
It's basically a big Meccano kit, so should be movable fairly quickly, which we got from Exeter RFC I believe(?).

It's basically a big Meccano kit, so should be movable fairly quickly, which we got from Exeter RFC I believe(?). I wondered that, but keeping it would hold the capacity at the 5.5k number it currently is. As has said previously, we can't being the main stand towards the club house as things stand because the capacity would be too big for what we are allowed until we improve access. This hasn't been said, but what I'm working out from bits and bobs I've heard is they might scrap the mackoy completely either temporarily or permanently because that's then -2000 which means we can add another 1000 - 1500 by bringing the main stand down, filling in both corners, and making both end permanent terracing, and in the process staying within our allowed capacity. I don't believe The east stand will be other side will be touched for a while. That's my best guess from various things SD had said anyway.
