I don't think it's an issue with the ground being developed I think it just needs to accommodate everyone. Some people still like to stand so think the issue is making the shed end the only standing area which isn't great with the problems with the roof. Regards to comparisons with the house I'm sure two people have probably done up a 4 bed house before if they had money on the levels of Stewart đŹ

I canât really keep saying the same regards the ground. Itâs already at league level -where the hell do we actually want to go with it now? Itâs just like an old man constantly tinkering with a perfectly good car.

Yes, itâs clear that when you have a broken down old terraced stadium it needs something doing to it though. That ground as it stands now needs nothing doing to it. Now you are really showing your Newbie status, we would have been delighted to have had terracing, broken or not. Have you never heard the saying, "built it and they will come" it's worked so far.

I can honestly say Iâve never heard the saying that begins with the words âbuilt it..â

Yes agreed bomber -I love these people who need to write things like âend ofâ and âFACTâ in sentences, like it makes them more valid. Mr A Hitler 1933 â Iâm in total charge, itâs my country, Iâll do what I like, as after all I have all the money and all the power- end of..., FACTâ

Assem Allam thinks Hull City is his club as well, and that berk Vincent Tan at Cardiff. Now I am in no way alluding that Stewart Donald is one iota alike to those to utter wallies, but lets have it right, in reply to ballboy, I appreciate the lengths S.D has gone too, especially with the very reasonably priced season tickets, but don't for one moment think that any football club belongs to anyone but the supporters. Chairmen will come & go but some of those young kids that attend will be there for life. Stewart said on here he'll keep terracing, that's written here & is good enough for me. I also agree with Hill. www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/football/eastleighfc/15637645.Eastleigh_boss___We_ve_got_the_best_chairman_in_football_/?ref=mac

Totally agreed. For any fan to say âitâs their club/visionâ is bizarre -so makes you as a fan nothing really. Just a cash cow. Hull chairman, Cardiff chairman, Mike Ashley, the glazers, those two Americans who took Liverpool over etc Football is nothing without fans.

Reading all this I'm struggling to figure out what some people's problems are... What difference does it make if SD adds another seated stand? I don't recall any time recently going to a game where any of the seated stands or terraces were filled to the brim, so I can't imagine a new seated stand would result in anyone not being able to go where they with (stand or sit) as there will still be other areas for them to go... People up top have said that the long term aim for this club is to be established in the football league, where by x number of years you have to have x% of your capacity as seats. So they are therefore preparing for a time which they hope to reach. You can't have the ambition to be at higher levels and not prepare the stadium for that, because trust me attendances would go up by thousands if a mirracle happened and we got a double promotion to league 1. But as I say, as unlikely as that is, because it is their aim it is, therefore, something they HAVE to prepare for. I don't believe this stadium is "league 1 worthy" quite yet. If it is compared to most league 1 stadiums then it would be right at the bottom in terms of ratings and capacity. only Kingsmeadow I would say is smaller than the silverlake, and they've got to their position in 15 years from a lower point in the pyramid than we currently are with a lot less money.

I can tell you the silverlake, when the new side stand is finished, will be on a par with burton albions Pirelli stadium.

True but until 10 or so years ago they were in the same position as us having not played in the football league, so we could consider ourselves to hopefully be the next Burton and establish ourselves as a league 2 team who hopes to get even higher, but have more money and hopefully a better stadium in the process. Won't hurt if the money's there and the stands pay for themselves in the future, but I completely admit that they won't as things stand (no pun intended). This is why it's a brilliant and exciting time to be an Eastleigh fan, which is why I'm clueless as to why there is so much negatively on here over things such as stands which I can only see as being a positive thing of the club moving forward.

Itâs Stewartâs money and dream. End of ... And OUR club!! I never suggested that we as fans should not have an opinion and input and agree that it is our club so, apart from the matchday experience and spending on season tickets/merchandise/programmes,drink/food etc, we can contribute and share our views either through the supporters club or at fans forums. Or as has previously been said you can always talk to Stewart on matchdays.

For those bemoaning the future (2/3 yrs?) loss of the east terrace, if I recall it correctly SD has said that he has plans that the Mackoy could be converted to a proper standing area. As we know, atm it is TEMPORARY seating. I think there is plenty of scope under that roof for proper concrete terracing with the necessary crush bars, possibly even 'safe' standing as some German clubs employ. Loads of room underneath for bars, toilets etc. That end of the ground has the benefit of being out of the sun (not shining into eyes) and in the lee of prevailing rain.
Personally I'd love to see the ground developed more so the club is ready for the future. I think the term is "Build it and they will come"-Field of Dreams. Although I'm sure Taylov will correct me if that is not the source or anything else is wrong with the statement.đđ

I'm pretty sure it was Field of Dreams Martin. It might have been corny (in more ways than one) but still a really enjoyable film at the time.
