Seems a tad pathetic given the state of the team and little chance of ever getting out this league.

Grounds looking decent, the new extension looks great.
What's actually going underneath?

Seems a tad pathetic given the state of the team and little chance of ever getting out this league. Well it's not 'pathetic' is it. I certainly don't think it's necessary considering the gates we're getting though. It's like buying a Rolls Royce with a faulty engine & ignoring that aspect of it to do up the bodywork. Why would you?

Just don’t know who the club is expecting to sit in these spacious New stands given the type of football and league position we’re in. Didn’t realise the club had a waiting list on season tickets.

There are no details in the article about what SD is planning to do or the timescale. Stewart has indicated in the past that redevelopment of the east side of the ground will mean there will have to be access from Stoneham Way but that change and the increase in capacity is subject to a full planning application to EBC. I'd have thought we're looking at a couple of years at least before the project starts. But I could be wrong.

Would have thought that the club house end terrace would be next on the agenda, given that that's one of the most popular parts of the ground and isn't currently fit for purpose. Whatever happens to that side of the ground, I believe it's important to retain terracing down the east side. Wouldn't want the ground turning all or mostly seating.

a new grandstand must cost a few million quid, maybe one for the longer term. would be nice to see the shed end expanded
great to see the ground improving though. even whilst we have stalled a bit on the pitch, things moving forwards off it

Think the terrace side is something next on the agenda but I don't think will happen for a while , well I guess you could say that if you look at attendance as there is lots of room. If you look at the bigger picture then the chairman wants to get that side done, few months back it was possible hotel etc that way if the club were to get to the football league then everything is in place. Yes we need things to improve on the pitch but let's get behind the plans as it isn't our money is it?? The ground will at some point be around 8000 capacity, once that side is done I reckon?? That would be fantastic, let's just hope on field we can get sorted then the club is set fair.

Now the new club facilities is there, the terracing is a waste of time with that pointless roof that does sod all when it rains and when it does rain there is a lovely rain pipe that dumps water were people stand outside the old clubhouse. Also the High end interior inside the new build looks good then you step out to those lovely generators what's that about? Get rid of that "shed" im sure some local team will take it off our hands and the roof that they can use at sensible height with no worries of obstructing coperate hospitality snobs 😡

Just a thought here, how many does that terrace on the east side take? 1500 maybe? So if you built a stand for say 2,000 seats would that exceed the rules to require another access road before building it? If an access road is required the only one I can see would be a slip road off the motorway roundabout into a car park behind the Mackoy Stand...one way in only...one way out..via Stoneham Lane.
There was a rumour some while back that SD was thinking of having a hotel built ajoining the new East Stand. Something I see Ebbsfleet are also doing at their ground re-development. All exciting times, its a good job SD has vision for the future....wilk reminds me of trigger in Only Fools and Horses....he never quite joins it all up correctly about the future of EFC.

I think that whatever one thinks of the current standard of football we have moved up four divisions in the last fifteen years and the crowds have increased tenfold since these days and until five years ago few people thought we had the resources to sustain ourselves as a National League club.
I personally would welcome an increase in the number of seats in the blue stand. I purchased a season ticket in the blue stand believing that if I did not do so all seats for that area of the ground would be taken. However as one of the last to purchase a ticket for that area I was not given a location I particularly liked and as a result now enter the stand a couple of minutes before kick off and sit on one of the vacant seats. Increasing the number of seats would for me give me greater choice and I personally think that allowing greater flexibility might be of long term benefit to the club.

All exciting times, its a good job SD has vision for the future.... I had a conversation with SD towards the end of last season. At that stage he was certainly talking in terms of replacing the current "Exeter Meccano" covered terrace with a major new development of seats and standing which would include food franchises, coffee shop etc. That would certainly require a second access to the ground from the motorway link road side and that I assume could not be achieved until the new road layout/roundabout is built outside the Concorde Club as part of the new housing development.

agree spitfire9
though I Do think with a bit of clever design it could be reworked to be like back to how it was without effecting the new building
