My comments about the traffic were based on my walking to the ground 45-60 mins before KO, when I saw gridlock on the roads coming in, and the famed traffic lights opposite the ground entrance holding both sets of traffic up, so that coaches/buses were going through red lights. The traffic didn't move in all the time I was walking. People who sat near me made similar comments. Getting there 75 minutes before the start was a smart move :-) I didn't see that at the Reading game, for exmaple, although I know last night was at the tail end of the rush hour. Leaving the ground, as I've said, walking by the church is unsafe and poorly lit, and a lot of people switched to walking on the road instead, making it even worse. I know traffic leaving the ground is held (he said '5-10 minutes' - yeah, right) but these big occasions show up the inability of the council/Highways Agency to create a safe enviroment. Is it two years it's been like that now? I know it's not the fault of the club. Despite all their helpful pre-match info, the non-regulars consistently don't appear to read it. Like 'where am I sitting?' 15 minutes into the game. Everything else seemed to go smoothly, we have had a few big occasions over the years to practise! Shame this didn't lead to an even bigger one on the 28th. By the way, compliments to the groundsman (again)!

Getting there 75 minutes before the start was a smart move :-) I arrived at around 7:15pm having paid for stadium parking, but the police had closed the road from the Concorde end due to the heavy traffic. They were blaming the congestion on the club for 'letting people into the car park who hadn't booked', though I'm not sure if this is true or not. To be fair the police we spoke to were friendly and helpful enough - it was clearly a decision that had been made above and they were just enforcing. Anyway we ended up having to park in the nearby estate and only just made it in time for the players coming out, which was disappointing having paid in advance for parking.

Although I am a season ticket holder I do not see as many matches as I used to. However I did dree the home match against Kidderminster when 10 minutes after coming on as substitute Oscar Rutherford provided the cross for Paul McCallum's winning goal despite being played on the left hand side having formed ab effective partnership on the right hand side with Charlie Carter the previous season, After this he was selected as first choice for the next game, but for the two games after that he came on as substitute during the final quarter of an hour. The next match after that he was an unused substitute and he certainly has not featured much if at all since then.

Has everyone forgotten the part where Rutherford wanted to leave this club or have I gone mad? **** him anyone else that doesn't want to play for us, it's worked well for Harper, Tomlinson, Hill , Carter and many others before 👍

Very few players are going to refuse the challenge the money and the glory. He is contracted to us and wants to play. What's your problem?

Our current owner moved on, guess made a £££££££ along the way, otherwise probably wouldn’t have left, if the wasn’t the opportunity to make ££££ out of a deal.

It's the club that's let Oscar down, not the other way around.

He wanted to move on from us, not us put him up for grabs. A player should 100% be allowed to make better money elsewhere if that was the case. However I wouldn't expect to get my place back having been disloyal with an eye elsewhere if a move hadn't come off. This is a great club, we look after players, he was first on the team sheet with Bradbury and we did so well last season didn't we, everyone was really happy with Bradbury from memory. Like I've said previous my last game away to Oldham he was outstanding, but that doesn't mean I need to show loyalty to him if he doesn't want to show loyalty to us, the percentages of success and true career progression after leaving Eastleigh don't look great from recent departures as listed in my previous comment.

How has he been disloyal. As far as I am aware and do not have the full picture but he was asked to sign a contract for a very long period tying him down on less than minimum wage. All he had done is turned that down. Clearly the club, or should I say Richard Hill, thinks so little of him that he is only worth that amount. Even so he turns up every week and looks devastated that he can’t get game time and play in front of us fans. He shows more desire than any other player, certainly in the match on Tuesday, and yet you call him disloyal. This is supposed to be his job, a professional footballer, yet I have seen his Dad have to bring him down because he can’t even afford to put petrol in his car and has to coach three evenings a week when he should be resting to get money to live on. Yours point about disloyalty is completely unfounded.

Well if the lad needs to progress by looking elsewhere, earn a wage like we all do in life can’t blame him at all…..will the club be loyal to him when we sign another player in his position….. The players at this level aren’t earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a year let alone millions. Id guess the best paid player is somewhere between 60-80k a year…..

Almost the players that left to play at a higher level are still playing - and playing well subject to injury. Offers came in for them and they chose to leave. My understanding is Oacar was blocked from leaving and then we have punished him by not playing him.

Surely we want to put out our strongest team, especially in important games? Rutherford should at least have been in the squad by that reckoning.
I don't know the politics of this (Rutherford's) example, or any others, but Carter, player of the year last season, appeared to be frozen out this year too and eventually moved to Dorking Wanderers. I think I remember other examples along the way (Ryan Hill, maybe?) so it seems that if you're out of favour at the Silverlake, you're really out of favour.
Seems a bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face, but if that's the 'club style'....

We need a decent right back, Panter should have stayed on, why does RH persist with Clements, l can see how he can`t get into the Chesterfield side. I have to add to the rest of the comments about Rutherford who l haven`t seen in months, but why wait until the 84 minute to bring him on? Enzio should be on the right side of midfield in a 4-4-2 formation, and Taylor? what does he bring to the team ? Agree regarding needed a LB. Don’t think Clemment’s brings anything to the team but gets 90mins every week. Thought Clampin looked okay when he came on Bailey Clements has gone back to Chesterfield (loan spell over) so Clampin, who was injured for a while, will probably get his chance again. I thought he didn't start well but was picking up some form just before he got injured. And it was entertaining seeing him come on as a sub up front :-)

Miley looks by far a better player in a Southend shirt and others who have bettered themselves!
Atkinson Harper Southwood Jones Stryjek Tomlinson
To name a fee so why begrudge Rutherford. Hill doesn’t get his way and punished players theme of the past as well

If it's all true Rutherford would be off his head to sign a new contract in these circumstances.
