A great interview from Martin Allen on YouTube, very honest. He's right about the huge wage bill and about how the club has to develop. The meals the players now have etc. He's really turning the club into a team ready for a serious challenge next season. Surprised Ronnie Moore didn't do this with the players. A shame Carl Muggleton has left but can only imagine he could be back once we go up. Desperate to find out who we've already signed for next season, I imagine they are good players as he seems excited to name them but can't yet for obvious reasons. Seriously excited for next year, for seeing the ground improvements, players coming in to take us to the top, continued ambition for the club and much more! It's an exciting time to be a spitfires even if it doesn't feel like it right now to some of you! Keep the faith, believe in MA and look forward to our next few games this season. Here is the link for MAs interview today... youtu.be/ZSBN1dSCfcECouldn't agree with you more mate, I'm excited myself. Its been a bit of a shame seeing a lot of negativity of late. I think a lot of what has happened was always inevitable, and surprised a lot of people didn't see it coming. But you've hit the nail on the head with what you've said. Could be a very exciting next season, even if the football this season is a bit boring whilst we form a team rather than 11 individuals not knowing each other overly well. Onwards and upwards! Well said martfergie, love to hear positive thoughts.👍

Excellent interview. VERY uplifting. Sounds like there are some good times ahead. We need to remember - Rome wasn't built in a day - especially if they had kept knocking it down and starting again!

He says it how it is! This club is coming more and more exciting by the day. It's so good he is liaising with the fans. Great news cooky is now full time and with the nutritional elements to the game. Exciting about the so called new players we will get. Great news he wants to give some youngsters a go.

Not so much an interview, that's where one person asks another questions, but a great chat from MA. Love his style, totally at ease just looking at the camera & talking. He certainly gives me confidence that things are on the up at EFC & that there's loads to look forward to. Just one question, Martin. What's your dog's name?

Just what I wanted to hear. A man with a plan and a dog.

Not the same dog that he had when he first arrived. Think that was called Monty.

Must admit, after reading Chris Todd's book the other year, I thought that the players meals were already 'controlled' and done at the club - but all comments from MA are positive :-) ......I've got a hedge needs trimming, so gonna see if I can get a couple of the lads round to do that ;-)

Respect has to be earned for me. I don't get all this blind faith. The land of milk and honey still seems s long way off. SD has earnt my respect and I feel he will know when actions speak louder than words.

At this moment in time, I have more belief in The Tooth Fairy, Nessie, The Easter Bunny and Father Christmas than I do MA...........

I think that when Ronnie Moore was voted Manager of the Month for September most people believed in him, but less than two months later he was gone.
Martin has a good track record having managed the champions of this league in 2014/15, but there are other current managers of National League clubs who have won promotion out of this league.
A lot will obviously depend on the squad that is assembled next season, but some players as well as being good players are great club men as well, and I am not sure how many of the current players fall into the latter category.
Locally I think there is no doubt that Matt Le Tissier and Francis Benali both former Eastleigh players were great club men as well and their commitment to the cause shone through in many situations they faced.
