Martin Allen has been in charge just over 2 months now and his 11 games in charge read W2 D4 L5. If we just look at the league games we have got 6 points from 6 games (W1 D3 L2). That's not good reading - though certainly just looking at the league form 6 games is very early to be drawing many conclusions.
What has really surprised me is the amount of players that have come in and out during that time. When RM left I thought we had a pretty reasonable squad of players that needed a slight tweak and we would be good for an assault on the playoffs. Clearly Martin Allen didn't agree with this assessment and thought widespread changes were needed straight away.
Looking back at MAs career he does have a very good track record so there is cause for optimism that he is taking us forward. As the thread title says "believe in Martin Allen" hopefully that trust is well placed!

I will judge MA by his actions and results. I like what he has to say and the way he says it. At the moment I feel as distant from this squad since I starting coming to the Silverlake 11 seasons ago. I appreciate the number of long term injuries we have at the moment but we all know we have under performed this season. I do however have complete faith in SD and know we are in safe hands. The sooner we turn it all around the better!

The bit I still don't understand is how can a squad good enough to take a team to the play offs ever need dismantling?

The player of the month vote is open to any fan who wants to vote! In truth January wasn't a great month and I can't think of any obvious contenders. Michael Green is certainly a fans favourite so not surprised he won it. Hopefully Februarys will be a tough choice with lots of worthy candidates! certainly is a fans favourite and to be honest nobody in January really deserved it. Hopefully in February we will have more candidates to base our votes for. Need some players to perform and show us.

I don't get this thread!!!! Why should anyone doubt MA when he has only been here two months, surely we all believe in him at this point? He's asked SD to change some things behind the scenes, to make the club more professional than it currently is, that shows forward thinking and as SD said in that excellent interview he is going to back him all the way. As the saying goes...Get the small details right and things will fall into place at the top end...which for us is a winning team on the pitch.

Bit of a clique but "failing to prepare is preparing to fail". Clearly we are preparing for next season. I fully expect a full time fitness coach and physio to come in now. Whether the current ones step up to full time or new staff come in to replace them remains to be seen. It's great the steps this club is taking, it's becoming so professional. I have said it so much but I'm so excited for next season, still have small belief we can make playoffs because 'never say never' but am more looking to next season to start a title charge. up the spitfires.

Interestingly enough when Martin Allen first joined the club he was quoted as saying we could still win the league, not just reach the playoffs.

When one looks at Chris Todd's record last season I think it falls into three chunks 1) The results from him taking over until Christmas were good 2) The results from Christmas until the end of February were poor 3) The results from the beginning of March to the end of the season were fairly good, and it is probably fairer to look at his overall record which is 57 points from 35 games having taken over when we had 18 from 12.

The latest MA broadcast is out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSBN1dSCfcE&feature=youtu.beSome interesting points - new and future signings, cutting the size of the squad, and a more professional approach to fitness and diet were things that I particularly noticed. Community work was mentioned too, there's been a focus on this recently already - good stuff. Still get the impression that the rest of the season has been written off, so it may be hard watching. The message is to watch out for next season.

A great interview from Martin Allen on YouTube, very honest. He's right about the huge wage bill and about how the club has to develop. The meals the players now have etc. He's really turning the club into a team ready for a serious challenge next season. Surprised Ronnie Moore didn't do this with the players. A shame Carl Muggleton has left but can only imagine he could be back once we go up. Desperate to find out who we've already signed for next season, I imagine they are good players as he seems excited to name them but can't yet for obvious reasons. Seriously excited for next year, for seeing the ground improvements, players coming in to take us to the top, continued ambition for the club and much more! It's an exciting time to be a spitfires even if it doesn't feel like it right now to some of you! Keep the faith, believe in MA and look forward to our next few games this season. I think a lot of what has happened was always inevitable, and surprised a lot of people didn't see it coming. But you've hit the nail on the head with what you've said. Could be a very exciting next season, even if the football this season is a bit boring whilst we form a team rather than 11 individuals not knowing each other overly well. Onwards and upwards!

Love the dog. I can't wait to see him running round the perimeter of the pitch, advertising Vitality! Good interview, with some positive thinking. We need to get some good results, to boost those season ticket renewals.

I'm excited about the new signing, Wayne Scales. Not sure what position he plays, left back in the dressing room, I guess.😊😊

Fresh more professional approach all round by the sounds of it, and not before time. Players have scales now, no mirrors and no mums to pose in front of, he's not having that crap! Love it!
