3rd (final) qualifying round draw in FA Youth Cup sees us drawn at home to Yeovil (who won 7-0 at Bovey Tracey last night).
Due to be played week commencing 10th October.
Watched Gosport ko Aldershot on pens last night and thought they looked stronger (especially physically) than our lads did on Wednesday. They now travel to Swindon Supermarine. So far Gosport have beaten Salisbury, Poole and Aldershot.
Other Hampshire sides still involved are Horndean, who are home to Portland this Sunday in 2nd Qualifying round. Winners will be home to Chippenham.
Andover Town kod Havant and Waterlooville last night, also on pens, and are now at home to one of Reading City or Wokingham and E or Ardley. It appears Reading City beat Wokingham & E but have now been initially removed from the competition (don't know why). So W&E will be playing Ardley in a delayed 2nd Qualifying round game for the prize of that trip to Andover.
The EFL League One and League Two clubs come in at the 1st Round Proper, which is next round after the above. Portsmouth will enter the competition in that round but Southampton do not enter to the 3rd Round Proper

Fixtures for this Wednesday (5th) appear to show just the 2nd year scholars (u18) at home. That is in the League Cup first round and sees Basingstoke Town visit Stoneham Lane Complex. FA Full Time states 2pm ko but never totally confident on this timing detail. Hopefully the Academy twitter feed will update this info for us before ko on Weds.
The FA site also shows 1st year scholars (u17) in cup action, away to Havant and Waterlooville.
Meanwhile the EDS (u19) are shown in league action away to, last years runners-up, Dartford.
Worth keeping a twitter eye on @eastleigh_acad for updates and ko time but they do seem to always leave things last minute which can be frustrating for people organising any spare time they may have for a Weds daytime football fix.

Was at the League Cup first round game this afternoon as the 2nd year side (u18) took on Basingstoke Town. Deservedly in front 2-1 at half time (Leo Downing and Malachi Dotse) the team were pegged back to 2-2 late on. Not a great performance but comfortable on the ball and the Stoke keeper working far harder.
But penalties it was and this time it was Eastleigh keeper, Louie Willets, who stole the show with two good saves and ensuring passage to round 2 by 4 pens to 3.
In the same Cup the first years (u17) also made round 2 with a 1-0 win at Havant and Waterlooville.
Meanwhile in the top Academy division the EDS (u19) got their first league win of the season with a fine 1-0 win at Dartford.

Sounded like a boring game at the silver lake tonight.
Just the 11 goals scored and we got 8 of them!
Has the silverlake ever seen an 8-3 before?!

Very good first half performance to build a 6 goal lead before Yeovil pulled one back, with a fantastic strike, right on the break. Half time left you wondering 'How good are we or are Yeovil plain awful'. Think second half confirmed Yeovil did have a bit about them as they drew the period 2-2 but you often see a dominant side out of their stride after the break as much of the passing game is replaced by a lot of 'shoot on site'.
Yeovil had won their previous round tie 7-0 so I think there needs to be significant respect to some of the silky moves and quality finishing in the first period but a little bit of head scratching about letting in 3.
Dotse and Singh got hat tricks with singles from Downing and Williams. Those four players mentioned were involved in many of the 'Rolls Royce' first half eye catching football but the hub of the dominance came from the central midfield pairing of Erdink and Honeysett.
All in all a night to be proud of but with a warning that to beat an EFL academy in the Proper Rounds defensively we will need to be much tighter.

Best 5er I’ve spent to watch football for a long long time, some of the goals were absolutely superb can’t wait to watch them again if highlights available, agree Yeovil goal to make it 6-1 could have been pick of the bunch. Pitch held up well after 3 games in as many days

2nd years (that's the FA Youth Cup age group side) are home today Weds in the League. 2pm at Stoneham Complex v Barking.
As a pre warning I notice at present FA Full Time has the EDS down for two home games next week. Wed 19th v Dorking Wanderers and Fri 21st v Boreham Wood. Exact details will, I assume, be issued next week.

Blimey, was not expecting that!
Despite a few changes there was still plenty of Monday nights FA Cup tie winners against Yeovil in the starting line up and on the bench this afternoon for the 2nd year scholars. But the performance was so far removed from that night you would have thought it was a completely different team.
So a first defeat of the season, by 2-1 against Barking in Division E of the National League Under 19 Youth Alliance. Singh, who scored three on Monday, with the equaliser early in the second half but an injury time winner earned Barking a deserved victory.

On Thursday the 1st year scholars (U17) lost 2-0 at Basingstoke Town in the National League Under 19 Youth Alliance Division D.
Last week the 2nd year scholars knocked the same Basingstoke Town side out of the League Cup on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
