Start charging supporters to want to drink in the Sherwood bar, then straight off the bat you're talking £9 for your first pint with entrance fee, even if you have just two pints, it still works out at £6-50p for each of your pints. And we moan about London pubs charging £5 for a pint!!!! Sounds like Sherwoods will bomb this season, its plain crazy, you've paid to get into the ground, you shouldn't have to pay further to get into a bar inside the ground. It would make better business sense to drop the £5 entry fee, and put the match day entry price up a £1 to cover it. They do need to sort out access as my understanding was the hanger was 'outside the ground' pre match hence open to away fans. But they seemed to be letting people into and out of the ground. So you could wander into the hanger and straight into the ground without paying. Let me assure you this doesn't happen. Because believe me...I've tried. Several times!

This was posted on Facebook by KA earlier today.
Hi All
Just wanted to let you know prior to this evenings game we will be continuing with the Sherwood's Players lounge as it currently is. We have considered the feedback we received and it seems what ever option we chose we would be upsetting people.
For those who are unaware the players lounge effectively turned the restaurant into a members bar so that we could serve drinks from glasses we also supply free tea & coffee as well as some snacks as part of the deal. It was advertised on the website and on the new season ticket application it costs £50 for the season, originally we allowed an upgrade on the day for £5, based on the feedback we have reduced the upgrade on the day price to £3 going forward.
The bar will be accessible prior to kick off to Ladies and disabled supporters wishing to use the toilet facilities as they cannot access the toilets in the Hangar as this will remain as a bar outside of the ground prior to kick off.
If anyone requires and more info or wishes to discuss please feel free to come and see us at reception.

''it seems what ever option we chose we would be upsetting people. ''
How can letting people in for free be more upsetting than having to pay?

Those who already paid the money for the year would feel miffed...perhaps.

Then return them their money, and let everyone go in for free. It will backfire in the end, sounds like the prawn sandwich mob wanting the bar to themselves and not share with the true supporters of the club..pathetic.

So you’ve paid your ticket fee, maybe car parking and now being asked to pay before you pay again for the pleasure of a £4 pint. Erm..no thanks...

It was nice and uplifting in Sherwoods tonight. Speedy service, snacks, tea/coffee and a nice seat to watch Sky sports!

I'll give you the fact it has Sky sports, (The hangar only has BT still I believe) but it shows the club are pandering to the elite, the prawn sandwich mob. But one day the elite will bugger off unless progress is made on the pitch, then the club will turn its attention back to the real supporters and start treating them with the respect they deserve. What they are doing is creating a THEM and US concept. A lot of the hardcore supporters have already moved on because they don't like what they're seeing with the elite taking over, the club has become very CORPORATE in its outlook.
Although vastly different is size, just take a look at Manchester United, the stadium has lost its famous vocal support to accommodate the corporate crowd, many left to go support FC United of Manchester, and also Salford City. Manchester United obviously has people on the waiting list to replace those that go elsewhere, but what has Eastleigh got eh? You lose your hardcore, you lose the heart and soul of the club, the people who travel up and down the country supporting their team come what may. Do you see many corporate supporters doing that? Yet they have taken over the club, the club fawns over them and panders to their every need. I don't blame the corporates, I blame the club for creating it, as the old saying goes, "You make your own bed, you lay in it".

I went in there last night, and cannot speak highly enough about it. It's worth £3 to have decent toilet facilities, and being able to wash your hands (with a decent hand dryer.) For those who don't want to pay, there is still the Hangar.
