If it's on, I predict a 2-0 win to Eastleigh. They started off the season unbeaten for long spells but drawing a lot, since then they've had a smattering of wins & losses.

Lots of rain already, forecast tomorrow is bad as well. But we've got covers and the pitch was pretty good on Tuesday, so let's hope....
If we play, then I'm going for a draw again (they've almost drawn as many as us - Eastleigh 10 at home versus Ebbsfleet 9 away).
Looking at their squad, it looks pretty strong, with the obligatory ex-Spitfires. They're unbeaten in six.

IF its on (airport forecast is for more rain this evening and again from early Friday morning), I'm predicting a 2-1 win for the Spitfires.

As long as we don't lose this one, we'll be safe with either 50 or 52 points tonight. Should we get the win and Aldershot win at Solihull that means a 12 point cushion of 4 games with six to play, and Solihull play at Tranmere on Monday which should be another defeat, leaving us at least 12 points clear with five remaining. So its a big day for us, Ebbsfleet will be feeling some pressure, defeat for them today will end their campaign for a play off spot in my opinion and we should be more relaxed after the win Tuesday night, as long as we don't play hoof ball, I see victory coming in a 2-1 win as Tony also predicts.

"Eastleigh Football Club can confirm that our National League game with Ebbsfleet United, scheduled for this afternoon, has been postponed due to the inclement weather.
The club went to great lengths to get the game on, but with overnight rain and further rain forecast, a pitch inspection was called for 9am.
This morning, the pitch was inspected by an FA-approved official, and was deemed too wet to play on in parts. With conditions due to worsen throughout the day, the decision was made to postpone the game early enough so as to not impact on travel plans for supporters and the safety of players.
The club would like to thank the National League and Ebbsfleet for their cooperation on this matter.
A new date for the fixture will be arranged and announced in due course."

That's probably the record gate of the season down the pan.

Weather should be better tonight!
Ebbsfleet have continued their unbeaten run to 10, and play-offs are still a distinct possibility.
Would be nice if we tried to change that..... being safe could work either way - playing with freedom and creativity, or just not bother.
So I'll stick with my original prediction of a draw - and less of a crowd than we would have got the first time.

Hessenthaler has taken the day off work sick. Hope he gets better soon and wishing Strevs all the best taking charge of the team. Is Coulson going to join the list of players to leave Eastleigh and then score against them? There's only been about 5 on that list this season!
