The saying goes « your only as good as your last result » and let’s all agree that this season is turning into a disaster. You can measure a manager on his past performance true, but this is a results business and managers rise and fall on wins gained. Hill has failed big time. The last 3 signings show a distinct sign of panic and the fact that one of our better players on loan seems to have returned to his club suggests that all is not well under the leadership of Hill. We may have one of the best club houses in this league and building a stadium to house many more fans, but the football on offer and the results will see a reduction in real attendances . I believe that the philosophy of looking to placate the prawn sandwich brigade is at the d’étirement to the grass root support the club has always in the past been at the forefront. Yes we need to back our team but when a manager publicly berates the core support, then it’s time to go.

Back for more -no venom at all. I think you demonstrate perfectly why people leave this forum in droves. Aren’t we allowed to say anything against your ‘darling hilly’? Is this another case of any ‘unsafe’ opinions not being welcome? There is little expertise and knowledge pal otherwise we’d not be in this situation. Make the most of your messiah as he’s got about a week left boring the sh.it out of us all. You are so up yourself willk that your comments defy logic. I have not objected to anything you or anyone else has said on this forum. Your opinion is your opinion, right or wrong. My reply was to your obnoxious response to my post. It seems to me that the "not allowing" is coming from you when you see anything that might risk being seen as positive.

Here’s a positive: I’m really looking forward to seeing some imaginative, free flowing attacking and entertaining football tonight with a win. Can’t wait.

It's interesting to see the comments about problems behind the scenes. It certainly looks like there might be and I would guess that there might even be contributors to this forum who think they know what those problems are. Staying with the subject of this thread, the question then becomes, if anyone does know what the problems are, would a change of manager remove those problems? And how? My impression is that views on Richard Hill tend to be divided between those who have known him, even through just occasional contact, and those who have not come into direct contact with him. There are exceptions to that for sure but generally I get that impression. The hard fact is though that, whatever you think of the current manager, it requires a proper understanding of the actual current problems to be able to say what is the likely actual root cause and then the solution which that demands. Without knowing all that I suppose we are all speculating. The situation keeps reminding me of a saying I heard some time ago - "When you are up to your neck in alligators it's easy to forget that the original objective was to drain the swamp".

At the end of the day this is a results business. Team recruitment, selection and tactics are down to the manager regardless of what is or isn’t behind the scenes. If RH continues to oversee poor results and we keep sliding down the table playing cr8p football and you were the owner, would you want him to see out the season potentially taking your team down?

I will be supporting the team tonight, but we can’t have another performance like Saturday, RH must of leant something from the reaction he got and I do expect a better showing, otherwise he will find out as people are now getting restless Agreed. Hill has got a fairly lengthy injury list to deal with & I always said, judge him when he's playing with a full deck. But I do ask that somehow the team he puts out tries to entertain & give the fans some hope at least, rather than the turgid tripe served up lately.

"I believe that the philosophy of looking to placate the prawn sandwich brigade is at the d’étirement to the grass root support the club has always in the past been at the forefront. "
Perhaps you would like to explain what you mean by "placate the prawn sandwich brigade to the d’étirement to the grass root support"?
Maybe you can explain how having an "Executive Club" for want of a better name is to the detriment of the team on the field, or other supporters for that matter, apart of course for the roof on the shed which I agree is a bit of an unintended design disaster. Are you suggesting that SD is putting too much of his finance into the club house? or for that matter into the stands, the pitch the new pub under the stand, the new toilet facilities, the car park, the additional management and ground staff, etc.etc. and not enough into the playing staff?
I happen to be a Brooks Club member, I have also been a regular supporter of this club since 2006/7, remember, the year Histon won the league and we spent a good deal of time in the relegation zone, No? thought not!
Like me, many of the supporters "up top" are long standing supporters, not some newbies with no interest in the club like we are portrayed by some on this forum. We too are concerned by the lack of form, the management of the team, etc.etc. We have see this all before and we will see it again because that is sport, but to suggest we are treated in a way that is to the detriment of others is rather insulting.
I have also never seen a prawn sandwich on offer, although if it makes you feel better by calling us names, so be it, sticks and stones mate! But to suggest that SD finding ways to increasing the clubs revenue so he can be relieved of some of the expense in the long run and make the club more stable and secure is to your or anyone else's detriment is ridiculous in the extreme, or perhaps you have a better way to spend SD's money.
He is quite approachable so why don't you add your suggestions to this thread, we all know he reads it and I am sure he would love your advise.

In a season of dreadful decisions, the biggest poor decision of last season was bringing RH back. We're in a worse position now than we were we he took over.
The biggest mistake this season will be not letting him go.
Now please.

0 v 1 down at half time and currently just 3 points off relegation. ''You're getting sacked in the morning, sacked in the morning.'

I would strongly suggest that a good investment for a football club is indeed the players and manager. Having expensive under-utilised buildings can be seen as a white elephant. Still as long as you feel that the money is better spent on the prawn sandwich brigade so be it.
