There's a bit more to management than barking orders out, unless you are running the under 10's. I did however listen to an excellent interview with Eddie Howe last season when he effectively said he could probably manage AFC Bournemouth better from the stands but realised that the supporters, whom he cherishes, need to see him pitch side giving his all. Did EH also say that when AFC Bournemouth lost it was the fans fault? I'd absouletly accept RH sitting in the stand (or in the hospitality suites or the toilets!) if he accepted it his tactics that lose us games but he has lost my respect after yesterday.

It’s hardly surprising that he’s lost the dressing room after (for one) the blatant criticism of Callum Howe but to go on local media blaming the fans who follow these lads home and away is utter nonsense and absolutely disgusting.
Alongside many others, I’ve travelled a few thousand miles paying money watching the team I’ve grown to love but when the manager is so arrogant he thinks the fans are to blame I’m afraid he has to go.
I’ve truly hoped things could be turned around with Richard but his decisions, tactics, excuses and attitude are as tired as he is.
I’m sure there’ll be room for him to join Ant and Dec in the jungle where there’ll be plenty for him to complain about or make excuses for - the weather, the ‘players’, the wildlife perhaps, and obviously the fans voting for him to endure the trials.....

Not quite with you here bbb. I don't recall saying anything about a manager blaming fans. If you have a comment which is specific to my post then by all means use the quote response to comment but please don't confuse us all with random inappropriate responses.

Hi back4more, my point was that maybe EH could manage AFCB better from the stands but would he if they then lost blame the fans like our manager did yesterday. I started this thread to state that RH blaming fans for us losing means he has to go if EH managing from the stands changes this I’ll hold my hands up and say I was wrong. As RH said to solent sport, we are all entitled to our opinion so let’s all express it but your points haven’t yet changed my mind - RH is still wrong for his comments.

Ok, gonna put it out there for "new manager" Steve Davis, 2 time Wembley winner, and was Hollands' gaffer last season, so maybe could have input, yes, I know he go the push at Orient, but surely worth a go? Nobody's commented on this yet. Not sure whether it's appropriate to start a discussion yet on this, but the question re a replacement has been asked. Interesting suggestion - looking at his managerial experience - did very well at Nantwich, then very well at Crewe for 2-3 seasons during a difficult period. He then seems to have hit a bad patch at Crewe, possibly staying too long (sound familiar?) and then having a difficult time at Leyton Orient. The Os are in a real mess so it's difficult to say whether anyone else could have done better. Knows Eastleigh because he was manager when we won there in the FA Cup ;-) Might be worth a look, as and when the time comes. And he played for Oxford United for a season! I won't mention that I didn't boo at the end because I left right on the final whistle to try and get out of the car park early ;-)

I feel we need to act quick aswell. With Leyton Orient after a new manager aswell they may take Chris Kinnear who is a manager I always have wished we would get.

Have now read RH post match comments, disappointed. Probably a little naive as well, you may not like a fans reaction at times, but you don't go public and state that as a manager post match interview - I'm sure he's peed off about performances & results like the rest of us & I know he's passionate about success at this club having seen that in his reactions in the past at some games both home & away during his first spell in charge, but golden rule number one, don't kick the fans, regardless to whether you think they are being fair or not - after all, he also knows what it's like to be a supporter in the stands, so he knows opinions will always be varied & divided.

When RH is having a go at supporters its a clear sign he is under pressure, its got to him. For me, attacking the supporters is the beginning of the end game, once you lose the fans, particularly those that have tried to defend him because fans found out how his hands were somewhat tied due to the mess he discovered on returning, then you lose them for good. When he returned it was to be DoF but he could not resist appointing himself manager and I thought it was crazy. He walked out saying he'd taken the club as far as he could.....why on earth was he allowed to become manager again then? Its got to be one of the most stupid decisions ever at a football club after such a statement was made when he left. I wanted him to go upstairs, that WAS the job he was offered, to help and prevent SD from being continually ripped off by players and agents. I'm afraid its beyond dispute he can't manage at this level, yes he won a Conference South title, but to be fair its easy to buy a title in that league when you've a chairman like SD prepared to underwrite it all. You cannot do that in The National League and RH has been found out...for the second time. Truth be told, there are far too many supporters now voicing their concern if RH goes upstairs that he will still influence the team, tactics by appointing a 'Yes' manager of his choosing to work with. Its been said RH is difficult to work with, that things are done his way and only his way....what kind of manager is going to put up with that?? I'm not writing this for amusement, but just imagine a discussion upstairs..
Manager: I'd like to try and get these two players in..... RH: They are young and inexperienced for this club, let me see if I can find a couple similar but older and experienced.
What manager would want to work like that? How can the club move forward, any club, if you have a DoF who objects to your choices of players. Now this story is of course completely false, but its what supporters are saying, what they are worried may happen. We heard reports of a player refusing to play for RH, we've heard stories injured players remain unfit for selection deliberately because they don't want to play either for him, stories abound that he has lost the dressing room. My take on RH is that if he tells a player to pass and move he will do it so when RH goes on the radio to say "I don't tell the players to hoof the ball forward from the back" is that a porkie? The reason is obvious when related to the pass and move suggestion, the rational thinking is that the player has been told to hoof it forward...why would he disobey his managers instructions if he wanted pass and move football? So if you're telling your players one thing, but stating something on radio in which they appear to be disobeying him, you would end up losing the respect of your players because he is not being truthful and making excuses. Its never been RH fault, it is always the players.....prime reason to be losing the dressing room!!!!
I wonder, seriously, if there was a chance the club could entice Daryl McMahon to come here? Give him a five year contract and let him build a team. He may have left under a bit of a cloud but to be fair, he stood up for himself and asked for a pay rise he felt he deserved...he wanted parity with the highest earner in the club, it wasn't granted so he went off to Dover. He was one of the most talented, if not the most talented player to wear the shirt here and he does have some affection for this club after giving him compassionate time off when his brother was very ill. Daryl is a seriously forward thinking manager in everything he does at Ebbsfleet, his star is shinning brightly and he could well go on to bigger things. He has big backers at Ebbsfleet but then he knows SD can match anything Ebbsfleet has got. Whatever happens, whoever comes in, has to be young and given 4/5 years to completely rebuild.
This is clearly a difficult time for SD, while he has got on with the building programme, the playing side has fallen apart, attendances are dropping, results are shocking, we are in free fall if two teams in the bottom four can come here in the last month and win their first away game of the season. One final pause for thought, I wonder if our big investors, the sponsors have voiced their concern to the management?

They don't have to - its obvious.
One point on the drop in attendances. Bearing in mind the very long run of poor home results, they have held up remarkably well. When things turn (and they will), we have an excellent base to build from.

Please understand that I really have no interest in, nor expectation of, changing your mind. I was just offering an example of another viewpoint regarding this business of supporters wanting to see a manager being animated on the sidelines. Please also understand that does not mean I am commenting on any other aspect of your own views. I can't express any opinion on Richard Hill's post match comments because I haven't heard or read them - couldn't find them.

I must, once again, ask who the bloody hell knows that he has lost the dressing room?
This is just made up and keeps getting repeated when someone wants to stress how awful things are! It's a tactic the Newspapers use and someone is just copying it with no factual information, it is then repeated by others until people start believing it.
He has not lost the dressing room someone has just made this up, appreciate people all have different and strong views but stick to the facts, if you don't know the facts then give your opinion freely, but don't state it as a fact.

Listening to his post match interview now. ''We played well in the last 20 minutes'' Yeah well you would say that after Barrow went 0-2 up & had no intention of going for a third goal. Does he really think we're that stupid?

My information is that he has lost that dressing room and I would NEVER reveal the source of such information. Does not mean I am pig 🐷 though the club WILL deny this no matter what...I accept that view because they cannot confirm it...fans can though...no smoke without 🔥 comes to mind. A player refused to play....the club did not attempt to deny that story did they? Only when he goes there is a possibility losing the dressing room officially comes out....unless the terms of leaving gag the club from doing so....such a comment could damage him getting a mangers job elsewhere. It is a shame but EFC comes first not RH.
