Think it's fair that a club with the finances that we have reimburses the other club and fans, just a bit annoying the "we will make no further" comment hinted that they may not do this. Will be interesting reading the comments on the Chester Forum later on.

This really is what would have been expected. Unfortunately the amount of time taken to agree it---which was necessary to get it rite---will probably just be seen as EFC bowing under pressure from the Non League Newspaper---Respect is due that this has now been resolved in this way--but no doubt the newspaper will want to take all the credit.Maybe the lesson to be learnt is that the final line of the original statement should have read 'EFC as a community minded club will be in further discussions with Chester FC regarding appropriate compensation arrangements. a further statement will be released in due course. Lesson learnt and time to move on

"These should be completed by Wednesday 11th October, and at this stage, every indication is that the pitch will be playable" Subject to some sort of inspection on Thursday. Didn't we go down this same road before the Chester game

what else should we do? Refuse to host the game? Withdraw from the fa cup?

This time the NL and FA are involved. Can't possibly go wrong ;-)
2-3 days before the match doesn't seem like much time, though. I know it's longer than the pre-season one, but....

good statement and we are certainly going over and above what is normal. do opposition fans ever get expenses paid for cancelled games? I can't think it happens too often
BUT
2 thiings missing
1) What date is game? kind of a good idea to put that in :0) OK we have seen elsewhere its tues Oct 31st 2) is the 2 free tickets for season ticket holders offer still on? good to have this clarified
so the communication is getting better, still room for improvement
