I'm all for a total ban to smoking in the stadium and I'm sure there are many more who would agree.

Bomber- smoking in the Stadium is not confined to the corners. Cigarettes are also smoked around the perimeter. I should not have to move my position to avoid their 2nd hand smoke. To point that out is not in your words whining-it is simply having an opinion. You dont agree fair enough however there is no need for you to treat others with disdain. Preventing smoking inside higher league grounds has certainly not impacted on attendance figures so I doubt it would do so in the lower leagues either.Even if we did 'lose' a few smoking supporters is that any big deal in the scheme of things. Are they really that desperate for a fag they can't last 90 0dd minutes.Interestingly many smokers seem to last 3 hours or more without smoking on the coach to away games-wonder how they manage that!!! Comparing drinking alcohol v smoking is not possible. As has been said other people drinking alcohol has no direct effect on me-breathing in their second hand smoke does. The 2 things are not necessarily linked. Both the Supporters Club and Sherwoods are thriving which seems to dispel your assumptions.By all means set up designated smoking areas - let those who wish to share their smoke do so to their hearts content- but not keep to the current policy which gives non-smokers no choice to avoid smoke whatsoever.

Why can't you move along a bit? There's plenty of smoke free areas at EFC, as well as where you can smoke. There's room for everyone. There's under 2000 people in a ground capable of holding 5000 & you're 'whining' that a bit of fag smoke comes your way & you don't want to move a little bit. Good grief.

It is impossible to have a reasoned discussion with you. So Im not even gunna try. I have made my point. On a forum thats what im entitled to do. Again you use the phrase whining. You clearly have an issue being civil with people. I have not in any way used derogatory terms at you--you on the other hand appear to delight in doing so.So i have no intention in continuing this dialogue with you

Why has this thread turned into a smoking one? Threads often end up bringing up other issues but I have found it to be a very relevant issue as a brittle asthmatic. A lot of people do not like the smell of smoke and, for many, having to put up with passive smoking when someone lights up near them, can have a major impact on their health. A designated smoking area would ensure those who do not want to put up with those near them smoking seems the most sensible idea. Smoke carries a long way so to just 'move along a bit' isn't going to be particularly helpful really.
