Hants-you're probably a nice chap and we've just got different views. You believe fans should always be positive, optimistic and chirpy. I don't. I believe fans should always be reflective, hold well paid players to account and yes, critical if needs be. I suspect the 97 at York would be 100pc critical after what they saw at York and surely that's the only emotion after a long, expensive trip to watch utter rubbish.

I know you are just here for a wind up Willk but seriously "you are probably a nice chap" has got to be the most patronising comment ever 😀😀

OK, I'll come back one last time.
I don't believe fans should always be positive either. I'm thoroughly pissed off at what has happened this season too. If you look back at my posts, particularly the ones after a home game (don't waste too much time on it!) then you may see that I'm pretty critical too. The main difference between us that I see is that I always try and give a reason for anything negative I say (and anything positive too).
I'd have been pretty unhappy after a long trip to York, too (although, as I said, I'd like to hear more from those who were there about how bad it really was). I felt like that after going to Brentford (although since Brentford was my childhood team I couldn't really lose). But I tried to say why I felt like that, and what I felt went wrong.
It's an interesting opinion you have that football is like medicine, teaching, etc. in that the 'customer' shouldn't really voice their opinion on what's going on and how to do it better, i.e. 'leave it to the professionals'. One of the things I like about football is that everyone feels they can get involved and have an opinion, whatever their experience and walk of life. Strange it is that way, but that's one of the attractions for me. Mind you, I feel I can also have opinions about politics and politicians, too :-)
That's why I would encourage you to voice your opinions more than just coming up with negative points. We all know this season has been terrible, from the chairman downwards. But we all have to try and work out why and move forward.

I think the difference between politics and football is that normal people can make a difference eg Brexit whereas whatever we spout about the team and manager is irreverent. No fan ever picked the new manager. Yes, of course fans have opinions, but they don't matter one bit or count towards anything at the end of the day. To an owner you're just another bank account.

Oh and westendspitfire do the words 'believe in Martin Allen' ring any bells. Should be ashamed at the rubbish spouted on that thread.

Have to say , realy enjoying the keyboard warrior stuff ! Have to agree us supporters have very little influence but i reckon that SD does take note of what we think , he seems to be an alright guy and i have certainly enjoyed seeing the gradual improvements to the ground , and yes the team should take first priority but i as a bit of a laymen compared to the more knowlagable supporter reckon that issue will be addressed pretty swiftly , or at least lets hope so , but i reckon it will.

Can anybody explain to me why we are being shown a building every week, which most of us won't ever go in, when we have the most shambolic team in the league? What exactly are the priorities here? It's called progress , but don't feel you have to use the facility's, maybe just greatful that someone is making a nice environment for you.

You mean 'facilities' -basic spelling rule when pluralising a noun. Now come back when you can pass a y6 spelling test.

Willk i was one of the 97 at York and whilst i agree the football was rubbish the trip was not entirely wasted as i spent the day in the company of fellow spitfires and we will continue to support Richard and the players win, draw or lose. The majority of the players do put in a shift but due to the changes they are not yet a team. Richard has inherited Martin Allen's players and we need to support him so we get the points needed to stay in this league. It was also great that Richard came over at the end of the game to speak to us. I can't imagine that there are many clubs where the Chairman and Manager interface so much and are so open and honest with the fans. I don't know if you go to any away games but i recommend it for an unforgettable away day experience.

There you go again. Nothing constrictive . Negative, negative, negative. See you in the new club house.
