Just catching up after a quick holiday. The points from Maysie and others re Ben Strevens are interesting. I thought though that Strevs' much publicised dissatisfaction was regarding the sale of some of his best players for a profit. This was at a time when the Eastleigh playing budget was much reduced and both RH and SD were a long way away in the north east. It seemed to me that the decisions leading to Strevs' departure came from Kenny and his Board at that time. Strevs had previously worked successfully with RH, including as his assistant at Whitehawk. I imagined Richard might have also had an influence on Strevs coming back here as Hessenthaller's assisitant and then taking over as manager when Hess left. No, Strevens tweets made it very clear that Hill had interfered when he came back as DOF. Strevens also made it clear that he was very disappointed that Radio Solent and Ian Wilding did NOT play the full interview undertaken by Strevens re talking about the interferences around his departure. Untill Hill came back Strevens and the club were doing just fine in terms of on the pitch results. Water under the bridge now, but to say Hill did not interfere under Strevens is nonsense according to Strevens. Maybe Hill has a diff story to tell?

He was very specific that he felt a transfer had been interfered with and we had missed out on a player as a result. Understand that the club got Hill back at that time because they felt we were in need of some help with contract negotiations....I guess there is two sides to every story, but this was part of the reason I felt it was a bad move to bring him back as permanent manager. Too early to tell yet but his start suggests improvement on Bradbury, at least we are scoring.

I have come to the conclusion that my approach to this forum is different to how a lot of people view it, so will be posting less, but my observations are as follows
1) This is the third time a manager who has achieved or came close to the playoffs has been given an improved budget for the following season and has been dismissed early on after a poor start to the campaign. IN each of the previous two two other instances RH finished the campaign as manager.
2) IN his second spell as manager RH appointed an assistant and the assistant eventually took over and the following season the club reached the playoffs. Could at any stage RH appoint an assistant to do likewise?
3) On a separate issue I see the club are charging £45 to hear probably the worst ski jumper in Olympic history speak. Other people may have different views, but considering he finished last in a field of more than 50 competitors, with a score less than half the person who finished second last I personally would not pay £45 to hear him speak and regard him as a celebrity.

One thing to consider here on the Strevs/Hill scenario, is that we we play against Strevs D&R side on Boxing Day and NYD. Assuming they are both still in charge of their respective clubs, it will be interesting to see how they get on before/after/during those games. Handshakes?
Regardinbg the survey, i'm not sure what was to be gained by that, as all its done is seperate fan opinion and seemingly drive a further wedge between the TSSC and the Club. Surely they need to work together, not create a "them and us".

But the club are contributing towards the them/us….the communication is not great at the best of times….one example changing the badge design.
The club has really split the fan base with the appointment of Hill or him appointing himself. Old players, ex mangers certainly haven’t held back on their opinions, seems like the two managers they were after weren’t interested…..
As said before need long term plan, are mangers wanting to work under certain people in certain positions at the club….doesn’t appear they do.

So from those comments, it sounds like the club do not value the TSSC, so are they needed? Im still not certain what they do on behalf of the fans/membership? The travel was always the big thing they helped with the organisation of, but i gather they no longer help out at all?
Agree that the clubs comms are not great, but thought that was what the Fans Liason Officer was brought in to do? The guy has been in the role now for a few months, so i would have expected the comms to improve greatly.
I believe that unless someone on the TSSC has the ear of SD, or is respected by SD, then its likely that the fans, or rather the TSSC members, are not really going to have any positive impact in and around the club.

In the past when I was a member of the TSSC we have been extremely lucky to have had the people we had running it.
I will always take my hats off to the volunteers at the club.
