Is there any talk down your way about the Cowleys becoming your new managerial team? It would seem highly unlikely they would be interested but geography is very much on your side. A couple of years with you restoring their reputation by taking you into The EFL might just appeal to them. I believe they moved their families down when they took the Pompey job and are reluctant to disrupt their children's education at a crucial period.
I know Stewart Donald is back with you and though my opinion of him is very low I think he's very popular with Eastleigh supporters. If he is injecting some cash then, although it would only be a fraction of their Portsmouth salaries, something acceptable might be offered.
Of course I'm just speculating and the brothers could be appointed by Charlton within the next couple of days, but perhaps it isn't as outlandish a prospect as it seems.

Charlton will be taking Dave Challinor from Stockport County.

Charlton will be taking Dave Challinor from Stockport County. I believe Challinor has turned them down. I think Eastleigh would be a better career move than Charlton Athletic for the Cowleys right now. They're still young but a bad next choice of club could severely damage their future prospects.

#saynotothecowleyswedeservebetter SayyestotheCowleysyoucouldn'tgetbetter! Bringing Danny and Nicky to Eastleigh would be a massive coup and would be the best chance you've had in your seventy-seven year history of seeing The Spitfires in The EFL.

You’re not the Cowley’s agent, are you?

You’re not the Cowley’s agent, are you? No I've never met them. But I've followed their careers closely since they took Braintree Town to within 180 minutes of league football back in 2016.

They were great at Concord, Braintree and especially Lincoln.
Once they reached League 1 with Lincoln they appeared to have reached their peak and have not done so well at the higher levels since. Criticisms include a lack of plan B and an over-reliance on the long ball which worked well at lower levels (especially with Matt Rhead as the focal point) but not so much as they went up the leagues, which require subtler stuff. Huddersfield turned out not be a good move and I wonder if they'd see similarities between them and here, with the money and expectations?
Personally, I like them, and think Danny speaks well on TV (I know lots of people who don't) and was very happy with what they did at Lincoln. I think coming back to the NL would be good for them but not sure whether they would be prepared to take the step down to reset. Despite the new regime here (and the money) I still think many managers will think twice about coming to the Silverlake.

I am definitely far more qualified to speak on this than you. Coming across well with what they say is all well and good but it's what happens behind the scenes is what really matters. Absolute fraudsters.

Absolute fraudsters. Fraudsters? When the Cowleys arrived at Sincil Bank in the summer of 2016 The Imps were on the eve of their sixth successive season at National League/Conference level. They hadn't managed a top-half finish in any of those five previous seasons. In their first season in charge Lincoln City were promoted as Champions. They also became the first non-league side to reach The FA Cup Sixth Round for over a century. By the season's end Lincoln's average attendance was double what it had been in any of the previous five seasons. In their first season back in the league they reached the play-offs. The following season they were promoted to League One as Champions. So in three seasons they'd won two promotions as Champions. When the brothers moved onto Huddersfield early the next season Lincoln City's attendances were more than triple what they'd been when the Cowleys arrived. Part of their legacy is that attendances continue to be at a consistent level they haven't hit for so many seasons in a row for over sixty years. If this is what these "fraudsters" can achieve I'd imagine any National League club would throw the doors open in welcome.

I think that you lost us, by saying the above. Would your club have survived if Stewart hadn’t bailed you out? Some people have short memories. He’s been fantastic for us, and we’ll never forget that.

“I know Stewart Donald is back with you and though my opinion of him is very low” I think that you lost us, by saying the above. Would your club have survived if Stewart hadn’t bailed you out? Some people have short memories. He’s been fantastic for us, and we’ll never forget that. Bailed us out! He used our parachute payments to purchase our club. He and Methven saw a way to make a quick profit and delayed our recovery. Ellis Short was the man who wrote off £200,000,000 of our debts but sadly he passed us on to the two Oxford men. The sentence you quote was extremely moderate. Many SAFC supporters would tar and feather the pair of them if they had the chance. Now I know and acknowledged the fact that Stewart Donald is very popular with Eastleigh supporters but he has given to you while he took from us. The only thing I will say is that he wasn't and isn't as loathed as Charlie boy; and I don't think either of them could outscore another "legend" down your way in the SAFC unpopularity stakes, the forever loathed Lawrie McMenemy. But all of the above has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. I'm a bettor and the combination of the aforementioned Mr Donald's money, a club that seems, (from the little I know of you) to be on the up and the Cowleys as your management team would make you a very good investment. I'd be equally happy if they replaced Unsworth at Oldham or succeeded Hughes at Bradford City but for reasons of geography and that there is a vacancy right now you would seem the most likely option. My opinion (along with 40,000 other Sunderland supporters) of Stewart Donald is irrelevant when it comes to what's best for the future of Eastleigh F.C..

Think calling people fraudsters on a public forum is going into dangerous territory. No idea what it’s based on. They have had great success with 2 different national league so it’s a yes from me. I would hope they are on our shortlist
