We got a game tomorrow. And it is of course a massive one for our visitors!
Got to be 500+ coming down from Lincoln and with nice weather a good contingent from Eastleigh.
Crowd of 2500+?
On paper a really tough game, I would be happy with a point!

Can someone change the title of the this thread to Lincoln City or the Imps, as its confusing as there are two Lincoln teams, Lincoln City and Lincoln Utd.
Thanks

I don't think we'd get them confused salfordimp!
Would have thought this game was a certainty to be segregated.

Can't see a win for us - best we can expect is a draw but agree the atmosphere should be great.

I guess Lincoln think they are so f$cking big now, they can dictate the content of other teams forums?? :-) I hope we bring them down a peg or 2 tmw!

Sorry I'm really confused with the title of this thread. Is it about the City of Lincoln? i.e. a bit of a travellers guide, best restaurants sights to see etc etc etc or is it about the football match taking place today?
If its the later can we change the title to Eastleigh vs Lincoln 'The Football Match 8th April 2017' this should really help with any confusion as I'm not sure comments telling me about the best public toilets in Lincoln the City will be useful.
Thanks everso much xxx
P.S. should we be asking Brian Howard back to do some penalty taking at half time in memorial of that great match the season before last? Come on you SPITFIRES

Hmmm, I don't know.
Am more concerned that people will confuse Eastleigh FC with Eastleigh RFC and that 2,500 people will rock up at the hub expecting to see the game.

If you were a Tranmere fan you'd be cheering for Eastleigh today because we are capable of getting something out of this game and giving them a helping hand....but do we want to? To my mind Lincoln City are champions elect but boy have Tranmere made a fight of it in the last few weeks. There is bound to be tension around the Lincoln team, any news from Tranmere that they are ahead and Lincoln are not, they will soon hear about it I'm sure, or do we want Lincoln to win and take another step towards the crown they so richly deserve for a fantastic season? We ought to just come out and enjoy playing football, there is no pressure on the team now as we are secure for next season. I think Lincoln will get a comfortable win really, 3-0 or 3-1 but as Greaves used to say, "Its a funny old game saint"....a draw would be fantastic, a win a bloody miracle!! :-)

Your Spitfires posts so far shows how much football teams fortunes can change within a couple of seasons. Last season I would be thinking Imps taking away a point at your place would be good, but now we should really be coming home with 3. As spirtofeastleigh states football is a funny old game and we have dropped points and lost to lower placed teams this season.

Surprisingly enough - yes I want to win the game! Personally don't particularly care who wins the league, I just want EFC to win as many games as possible and finish in the highest league position possible.

You might want to win the game - after last Saturday's performance at Dag and Red, let's see whether the team does. They've got nothing to play for and a lot of the players don't know if they'll be here next season. They should be motivated, playing against the non-league team of the season, but RH has a job to do today, I think.
They'll have to be on top form against the Imps - if they are, they may run them surprisingly close - if not, I see it being something like 0-3.
I am biased, but I hope both Lincoln and Tranmere go up, the latter via the play-offs (apart from the fact that we wouldn't have their fixtures next season). I have perceived quite a lot of mutual respect between those two sets of fans.
Not sure why salfordimp was worried about the title of the threads - City and United are light years apart in Lincoln, always have been. There's also Lincoln Moorlands Railway, of course.....;-)
