A signing to appease the fan base? Obviously we needed a striker and the fact that he was there sort of makes sense but do we really think he is going to get on the pitch tomorrow?

While no - one is thinking this is a long term solution, Macca certainly fills a current need. With the young loanees brought in Macca can offer us on field experience, and he is one of our own. He will play for the badge on the front of the shirt not the paycheck, and he knows how to stick that round thing between those 2 white sticks!!!

Having Strevs and Macca rack this season only says to me how far we've fallen and how turmoil this season has been to us. 2 players let go because we outgrew them, and now they are back because we were desperate for players in their position.
I think they'll do a good job and as mentioned above, they'll play for the club 110% when on the pitch. Macca wins headers all day long so will bring that dimension of his game with Henderson out.
I have great memories of Macca, just hope he hasn't lost too much since being away from the club.

I'm well pleased, hope he's match fit, perfect, a strong forward that wins headers

Welcome back, Macca. You are just what we need, but I'm not expecting miracles. I would suggest the club have under-invested in serious forwards in the past 3 years & whilst we accept you are not a long term panacea, you will do your best as a stop gap till the end of the season.

He was never really replaced. Ross Lafayette was brought in at the time and didn't hit the mark. Whilst I am a huge admirer of Macca I am not sure how much he will bring now at his age. He was never that mobile two years ago. What this says about the direction, planning and style of the manager though? I am just not convinced by Martin Allen yet, his signings or style of play. Anyway, really hope Macca plays and scores tomorrow. Looking forward to the game and hopefully a better atmosphere than 'the night of passion' on Tuesday!

Yup, I agree too. Also, going by what we've seen so far, no one can be convinced by MA but isn't it way too early to judge, he deserves time!

Amazing to think that Craig McAllister was at Eastleigh BEFORE Paul Doswell!
Welcome back C-Mac

Great to see Mecca back so can we now double back & recall Greener as well? Just the man to supply the balls into the box where Mecca will be waiting!

I may be wrong, but I think that Paul Doswell's first involvement with Eastleigh begun before that of Craig McAllister.

I saw Macca play before I ever saw Eastleigh FC play - in those days he was a youngster in the Pirelli Sports side.

Why don't we just re-sign all of the Connie South championship players, because most of the fan base appear to think these are the only players who are capable of playing for EFC. I despair with some of the backward thinking 😢
