I was able to make this match and was on coach 3 which nkc mentions on another thread.
I sat in the main stand as did some other Eastleigh fans even though this was at the opposite end to where we all entered and there be appeared to be Eastleigh fans at different parts of the ground which might explain some of the different opinions expressed.
Sutton have played in the top flight of non-league soccer for a longer time in total than we have and I have always enjoyed going there in the past. I am not personally a great fan of segregation and I think that without it fans sit in the part of the ground they feel comfortable with and in effect segregate themselves from those they feel uncomfortable with.

Nice to see players deemed not good enough for Eastleigh doing not too bad for themselves elsewhere.

Nice to see players deemed not good enough for Eastleigh doing not too bad for themselves elsewhere. Yeah I agree. Dan Spencr has done well for them. McAllisters not really playing now he's getting on a bit but is Beckwith injured as he wasn't playing today?

Beckwith damaged a hamstring in the game last Tuesday.
I know some of their fans have jumped on the anti Eastleigh bandwagon, but I am delighted of their success today - especially for Dossie, Wayne, Bairdy, Collins, Spence & all the other ex Spitfires up there.

Amazing to have 2 non-league clubs in the 5th round, first time ever I think!
Am sure the Sutton folks have (and are having) an incredible day.

Yes, great to see and well done to Lincoln and Sutton, but we've now had a total of 9 clubs reaching the 5th Round since 1945 of which no less than 4 have done so in the last 6 seasons. My feeling is that this increased rate had more to do with the fact that Premier league and Championship teams are no longer sending out their top teams in the FA Cup.
This was the 1970 Leeds side that beat Sutton 6-0 in the 4th round - Harvey, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, Lorimer, Clarke, Jones, Gilles, Madeley. No second-string players that day.

Bet Arsenal turn up with 10 changes from their regular Premier League side.

The only certain thing about the next round is Man Utd will be on TV!

If any club gets drawn against Manchester United and finds the game is not televised then that club will wonder what they have to do to get a televised game.

Talking about players Eastleigh have let go (having just seen the news about Jai), one of the highlights of the holiday i just got back from was walking past a Funchal bar when I glanced at the football showing on their big screen TV to see Jamie Collins in a gold shirt heading a ball. I'd completely forgotten the Sutton v Leeds game was on. Anyway, thanks Jamie for giving me an excuse to sit down and have a beer so I could watch the last 25 minutes. I enjoyed watching both Jamie and Dan Spence outplaying Leeds United and getting that historic win. Apart from the obvious Eastleigh connections there was a bit more history there that the media seem to have missed. Did any of the papers mention JC's previous? Didn't he knock Swansea out of the cup with the Havant & Waterlooville team that went on to lose 4-3 in the next round against Liverpool? Wasn't Ian Baird managing that H&W team at the time? Didn't Ian Baird once play for Leeds? OK so some of the pundits might have recalled all that and I might have missed it being away but there was no mention of those connections on the English language sports channel or in the English papers which I saw the next day. Those kind of facts would have been mentioned as a matter of course in the past. Perhaps it's just another sign that the FA Cup no longer holds the nation's imagination the way it used to .

Yes, yes & yes, John. It was being shown on BT Sport, I think, so not surprising those facts were missed. No bout adout it, the BBC would have picked them up. We were all very impressed with their coverage & in depth facts of EFC when our game v Swindon was shown live. Think BBC are showing the Sutton v Arsenal game live & I look forward to seeing that game.
