Sadly, a few few of your young fans let your club down today. They were asked on a number of occasions to stop thumping and damaging the stand. They also goaded the home support. Thankfully if was ignored. Fair result, good luck with your promotion push Our young fans are used to being allowed to bang on the metal backing of stands at the Silverlake, because it makes a noise & creates an atmosphere & we have no houses nearby. Just seen in your programme you request fans not to do it in the GGL end. Not the end of the world & I don't consider they let the club down at all. We'll done for beating Wimbledon & good luck for the game v Leeds. It'll be interesting how you feel about their fans after next week's game. It's a pity you condone the damage they did to the stand! Im not the only Suttton fan who was disappointed by the behaviour. suttonunited.proboards.com/thread/8108/home-eastleigh-21-01?page=3

Don't condone any damage done to the stand. Was standing close to them in the first half & saw no bad behaviour, only banging on the walls which happens at our place all the time. Can't comment on what happened in the second half, but they seemed quieter when I was at the other end of the ground.

Having read their thread that sounds disappointing. I think more concerning is the 'adult' ringleader. They were mostly fine if boisterous in the first half. I enjoyed the match being unsegregated and it is also disappointing to hear suggestions that they should specifically segregate for us.

Just read the following thread from their Forum, very disappointing to see reports like this
"On paper a 1 all draw with possibly the biggest spenders in the league is good. Doing it after Tuesday night is even better. But in the match over 90mins we were the most dangerous and I think we feel we're a little unlucky not to have got all 3. Bumper crowd too.
Today for me however was spoilt by a group of 30 or so Eastleigh fans. Oddly enough in the first half they were at our end and I thought "oh they must be doing a Maidstone and staying in one place. Oh no...they followed us round and a few of them spent most of the 2nd half trying to destroy the ggl end. Being a close observer it was pretty obvious to me that most of them were a bunch of easily led kids led by a ringleader who stood in front of them geeing them on. He spent more time goading them than watching the game. At the end of the game some tried to take the plaque off the back of the stand and some quick thinking by frakey and Co stopped that. I really felt for Markn as pretty much a lonely steward there. Some should have been kicked out which would have sent a message to others but he couldn't do it on his own. I did try to find stewards at the start of the 2nd half but couldn't so I had to go there on my own and tell them to stop. They did for a couple of mins but then carried on. And their behaviour and language as they were leaving was awful too. I know as clubs get bigger they attract more idiots and I do feel for the more genuine Eastleigh supporters who are probably pretty embarrassed by these jerks. "

Disappointing to learn that, I agree. But only 1 steward available? Thinking about the day, I don't recall seeing any stewards. Surely the National League/Licensing authorities have rules about how many stewards are at a ground & assume they would have had radio contact. To have thrown 1 or 2 perpetrators out would probably have nipped the problem in the bud. I'm not giving excuses for our fans' antisocial behaviour, but sometimes segregation of away fans is best way of getting some atmosphere into a ground.

I would suggest that their review is a one sided view of events. Not saying that the Eastleigh fans were angels, but they were not perfect in the way they acted.
I also agree that the number of stewards on duty was very poor. I think I saw two all day doing multiple roles.

Not a bad point, but doesn't really help our (slim) playoff chances, on the plus side now 4 unbeaten in the league going back over a month.
Cheers for your crowd estimate nobad. Have seen 2 other figures and yours is almost bang in the middle. Think I will round down & go for 230.
Wasn't there so won't say too much about the fan stuff - it seems like there are differing accounts of what happened.
I don't believe Sutton segregate any league games which seems a little surprising (are they are the only national league side to do this?), aside from their own club policy I am surprised the powers that be (police, safety officer etc.) allow this. May well be changed for next season I would think.

Sure they will be happy to see our "nopyronoparty" children After seeing one of the children's posts of the Spitfire Supporters Club FB page, all I can say is that I seriously hope not.......
I've stopped going to first team matches home & away because of it!

The segregation issue won't go away for Sutton - well it will if you go down to the Con South.
I've never had any real issue with segregation but I know a lot of our fans didn't like it (and some still doubtless don't) but I think most have got used to it. Its part of being in this league, I'm sure you'll segregate regularly in the next year or two, given you stay here - which seems likely to me.
I know it takes away from the whole "friendly non-league experience" having a chat with opposition fans, drink in the bar etc. I get that, I do - its really important for some fans & you've been used to it for the last X years.
On the plus side of segregation:
It generally makes for a better atmosphere as fans are grouped together No worries about away fans going in the "wrong end" as they have their designated section - I see a few of your lot are having a whinge about it on your forum No irritating away fans singing silly/funny/rude songs stood next to you, with you 100% on that - its not what I want when I watch my team either!
Best of luck against Leeds

Very negative coment get behind your team, and I think it will be a big gate because its a free game, so get all your mates down and support the spitfires.⚽️
Sorry i think we will have secured our play off place by the start of March and push on to the title clinching it on the final day of the season. There will be 5000 there on a cold January night, Tuesday and most will come back for Woking. The Throw-in Kid will also get player of the season as he realises throwing to their keeper is a daft idea and he completes 3 assists a game for our last 17 games. Is that better? 😀😀😀
Thats more like it. Hope to see you all Tuesday, get the thermals on 👍

Tubbsy also scored against us for Woking at their place earlier in the season, but didn't score for FGR when he came on as sub up there in Aug/Sept. Saturday was the 3rd time he's played against us this season.
