Standing was the better choice for me & glad I did. Good view, barrier to lean against, great atmosphere, singing, chanting etc. It's a very old stadium, we'll past its sell by date. Just as well they're building another one nearby, to open 2019, one of their supporters told me.

Seating was poor. Have to say though, the stewards were superb, very friendly and welcoming (just wish their players were) Centre of the park in defence and midfield today we were totally outclassed and out run. No tracking players runs and too much ball watching. The rest of this season has to be about building for next season because we are at present a long way off being good enough for a play off spot.

Thought we played well in the second half as Brentford eased off. We looked a lot more threatening after Mandron and Wilson came on. I am worried that MA thought were superb from start to finish. He must of been too busy applauding the Brentford fans to have seen our defending in the first half.

But did you get told to move your coats off the barrier because they were obscuring the bloody sky logo!?

Time for a complete clear out and a fresh start, need some players who want to win a game and a keeper who can save at least one shot out of 5

I think these comments are a little harsh. We had 15 fit players at 3 o'clock, 14 a few minutes later. We were missing a lot of our big players. The penalty was a penalty, but their player fouled our defender just before then. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong against a good championship side. Lets be sensible here, that Brentford team first half would have given most premier teams a good game.
Our problem all season, which was brutally emphasised today was our lack of pace. I heard lots of fans shouting "stay with the attacker" - they couldn't - the Brentford guys were much quicker. That IMO was the biggest single problem today, and the biggest single problem all season. Our goalkeeper wasn't great, but he wasn't awful either. Give the guy a break it was his first game; mocking him, as many did, is totally pointless and counter productive. I also heard a number of fans saying the players weren't bothered and we were lazy, NONSENSE! Not quick enough - true, perhaps not fit enough, but everyone in an EFC shirt did the best they could.
Now I hear lots of people saying this season is a write off, and we should prepare for next season. I don't actually know what either of those statements mean. As long as they mean we will put our best team out and prepare to beat Forest Green Tuesday, then I don't really care. Lots of people were gloomy about our chances Tuesday. Not me. We need to, and can win Tuesday, now stop sulking and get behind the team.

Baffled by MA's team selection today - I suppose bringing in Stack was predictable, but he didn't know his defenders, and they didn't know each other. Hoyte missing his tackle for the penalty was poor, and Stack came out too quickly. Two goals came from our attacks. The ball was played inside our central defenders far too often - the Bees attackers were sharp, sure, but our defenders stood off them so often in the first half so they were invited to shoot...
And then there's the attack. Mandron and Wilson were SO much better when they came on - personally, I thought starting with two big, fairly immobile attackers was a defensive measure.
Second half we looked better, but Brentford had already declared, were keeping possession and playing at three-quarter pace, giving our defenders more time to get back. And as I said, towards the end we looked much better going forward and had a few chances. Stack played well second half too.
Good day out, anyway - The coaches were good (and a good price - thanks), the Bees stewards friendly. The view from the seats was great but it was a bit cramped and with only one exit, one toilet, and a narrow staircase down, didn't feel particularly safe. Shame about the ****head with the pyro - in that confined space it must have been pretty dangerous. The Griffin was as good as ever and the burgers on the grill outside looked pretty good too. Good atmosphere - shame the fans were singing early on about the lack of noise from the home fans and comparing it to a library rather than supporting their own team. Actually, the accoustics at the Brook Road end are so good that you can only hear youself sing anyway, and can't hear much from the rest of the ground. Information was poor - you couldn't hear the loudpeakers at the Eastleigh end, you needed binoculars to see the miniature scoreboard at the other end, and the numbers on the Brentford shirts were unreadable.
Playoffs are still on if we win 4 or 5 games in a row. It will be a very different team on Tuesday, with the return of players suspended, cup-tied, etc.

Have to agree about the safety aspects of the away stand. How that exit route from the seats upstairs passes a safety audit/inspection is beyond me

Burgers were great in The Griffin got served quickly as well.. Thought Stack cost us the game with the stupid challenge for the penalty but don't think he was particularly at fault for any of the other goals we were just overrun. Would really take a miracle to get a team settled enough to go on a run that would get us near the play offs, especially when you look at the 6 teams who are competing for those spots they all look very strong we are not anywhere near and think Tuesday will probably prove that. Although it won't stop me shouting my head off in support. Realistically MA has got a 7 month run in to next August where he can get the players he wants to keep playing his style and identify players to bring in who will make us stronger. The respect the Brentford fans showed him today gives me a lot of hope for the next 16 months and his cameo with the linesman was funny. Once again amazed at the generosity of the club we support, cheap travel and free tickets to the Macclesfield match, hope they feel rewarded with such a huge away following today.

I admire the optimism but 10 points behind with a disjointed team that has had more changes than the weather this season. Don't think so. Definitely looking towards next season. As for Martin Allen. Underwhelmed so far. Looking forward to FGR on Tuesday though as this has been a good game over the last few seasons.

Cannot believe people are still talking about us reaching the playoffs with a good run of 4 or 5 wins!! Jeez, I'm not sure what planet your on but you clearly haven't been at an Eastleigh game for a while! Seasons a right off.... let's hope MA can rebuild our squad for a promotion push next season

I said 'if' we win 4-5 in a row, I didn't say we would!
The point is that with teams above us dropping points and taking points off each other we're still not totally out of it, despite the fact it seems a mess at the moment and yes, it's not been a lot of fun at most home league games this season. We've also got to play a lot of the teams above us soon, most at home.
It would take a massive improvement in our current form to do it, I agree, but it shows that most of the other teams are not setting the division alight either.
First of all, MA's got to pick a team and stick to it. No cup-tied players and most players have reached the end of their suspensions at last. But as I said on another thread, he seems to be talking about 'see where we are in 18 months' which seems to indicate some long-term thinking is going on.....
