You keep forgetting that we are actually a different team from Salisbury City. I have heard, so nothing official, and it could be a load of rubbish, but have heard there are teams who are willing to take voluntary relegation, teams who don't want to be promoted, and are happy to stay where they are. I am more than happy with Wessex Premier, some people think we should be one higher, but I disagree. Chester started in step 8, Darlington in step 9 and Halifax in step 8. So I think that step 9 for Salisbury is a fair level to start off in.

"You keep forgetting that we are actually a different team"
You are right in that you are a different legal entity but same area represented, same ground, same fans, there are (of course) a lot of similarities between Salisbury City and Salisbury. Which is why you were considered (and let in) the Wessex league.
If I set up Ten Acres FC with my mates, even if have a load of cash and know the right people we will be starting at least 5 levels below the Wessex league and won't be getting in the Wessex for a decade at least.
Anyway I guess this topic has been done to death, so only 3 more words to add: we shall see

Okay, I do feel a little silly now reading back, and actually having a full proper look into capacities at even Wessex division 1.. Definitely wouldn't sell any out xD My bad on that one.

Is it true Liam that this "new club" that has been formed don't even have a new logo but are using the old Sourboy city one? "New club" indeed!

Tis true to my knowledge. Of course, the Salisbury emblem is more than just a football club logo. So whilst I can personally see both sides of the coin on this one, I am not so much 'It is just the old club' mindset. I would like to see a new emblem in the not too distant future though mind, but am happy for now... Main reason for keeping it is a financial pro, a lot of old training equipment etc. with the old emblem, that still has a lot of use. Makes sense to use it, very non-league of us as well. Also helps keep spending down.

I see that side of it but if it's just training gear you could wear anything - or make some patches with the new logo on & stick them over the old one! Are you using the same match day kits, or are you buying new ones and then putting the old badge on them?
To the cynics like me it's just more evidence that it's just the same old Sourboys & the only thing thats changed is dropping City from the name.

Wouldn't have thought teams would be allowed to play competitive games with a badge that wasn't their own and had a "different" clubs name on.
Maybe we should play next season with "Kingdom of Eastleigh" shirts :0)

We will have new kits. Our emblem won't say Salisbury City on the kits mind. I would personally like a new emblem, but am not one of the grumblers on the subject.

I just looked at the Sourboys site about their new signings and it appears the "New club" is nicknamed "The Whites". What was the old clubs nickname?

Disappointment for the new SFC in their first Wessex League match this weekend drawing at Brockenhurst in front of a relatively small crowd estimated by the press to be under 250. After all the comments from Whites fans about how the WL grounds wouldn't be able to cope with their massive away support, apparently the only problem was the size of the Q for tea at half-time.

300+ may have gone to Brockenhurst, but did they all go to the football? Lots of other things to do in the New Forest on a lovely, sunny day.
Oh, and their fans still sing "Salisbury City FC", much the same as Chester & Nuneaton fans do (using the old club title). Old habits hard to break/retaining the history, I guess.

Of course they still sing Salisbury City FC. Anyone who for one second thinks they are a new club are just deluded. All they did was drop the "City" from their official name as an easy solution to avoid paying their bills. Everyhing else remained the same!
